I'm a retired British Army veteran exploring Rochdale & Britain through photography, capturing the beautiful landscapes, characterful trees, and unique buildings from the ground and the air with my Olympus cameras and DJI drone. y with my greatest interests: nature and solitude. From the expanse of moorlands to the charm of waterfalls, rivers to wooded areas, the beauty of pastoral scenes to the echoes of bygone industry, and from the grandeur of the Victorian era to remnants of the medieval period; Rochdale is rich in character, which I hope you all appreciate in my photographs.

Upon the Summer Solstice at Syke Pond

Polly Green lay hushed beneath the morning sky;
a row of homes, half-veiled by poplars tall, stood tranquil in the amber light.
The sunrise kindled cloud and water into one bright, mirrored dream,
while every tree and chimney found a second life beneath the pond's still face.

There, nature and dwelling seemed as one—the quiet hearths of Polly Green embraced by the splendour of the longest day,
and all the scene, in golden calm, appeared to rest
within the tender keeping of the rising sun.
