An instantly recognisable structure on Liverpool's skyline, Liverpool Cathedral boasts the highest and heaviest peal of bells in the world, and offers a 360° view of the city from the platform atop the tower.

2024 marks the centenary of the Cathedral's consecration. The stunningly peaceful Lady Chapel was the first section of the building to reach completion following the acceptance of Giles Gilbert Scott's design in 1903.

It is a must-see when visiting Liverpool. It welcomes worshippers, tourists and all manners of visitors with open arms, with staff and volunteers on hand to answer any questions you may have.

Boasting a fascinating design both inside and out, Sir Frederick Gibberd's design for Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral was chosen from the 300 entries received from all around the globe. Construction started in 1962 and was consecrated on 14th May 1967. It was the Catholic Church's fourth attempt to build a mother church for the diocese.

Before venturing inside, it is clear to see it gives life to Archbishop Downey's dream of "a cathedral in our time". The people of the community who have selflessly donated towards the upkeep of their place of worship have been immortalised in books which are on display for all to see.

Sometimes you just need to get away from it all…

Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, is a popular holiday destination for people of all ages. Not only does the island boast miles of beautiful beaches but several UNESCO heritage sites, restaurants your tastebuds could only dream of and scenery used in blockbuster films! Be sure to take a hike up Mount Teide, the 3rd highest volcano in the world.

Don’t make excuses and deprive yourself of the wonders outside your door. Grab your boots and get exploring your world your own way.

A truly magical place which resembles a landscape from the Jurassic era. Standing in the shadow of Ben Nevis, the wilderness of Glen Nevis is something that needs to be seen to be believed. This picture is one of my personal favourites and the stream has been at the heart of my family for many years (even a generation or two).

Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Apley Woods, Apley Castle was fortified during the English Civil War as a strategic stronghold. It became a stable house when another castle (of the same name) was constructed but eventually demolished. The original castle served as a stable house before its conversion into private housing.

A magical location for an afternoon stroll, the woodland has so much to offer from scenery to wildlife and tranquility.

Unveiled in 1952 the Commando Memorial overlooks Glen Spean towards Ben Nevis and pays homage to the fallen Commandos of WWII. The memorial stands roughly 6 miles away from the original Commando training grounds of Achnacarry Castle. Off to the right hand side of the picture sits a memorial garden with many heartfelt tributes from families who have lost love ones through conflict whilst serving their country as Royal Marine Commandos.
