This year has felt like it has had a little bit of everything going on all at once, but I have loved it all.

Made some new mates at πŸ·πŸ“πŸ

A few weeks ago we went to the Volkswagen Car and Van Show at , and slipped away for a few hours to explore the gardens, house, and the farm πŸ—ΊοΈ

They had recently welcomed some new piglets, chicks, cows, and a bunch more to the farm 🐣

I would definitely recommend visiting if you are nearby. Tatton Park sell a pass which gets you into the gardens, house, and farm all for a cheaper price than buying tickets for each area separately 🎟️

Inside the most stunning house I have ever seen 🏑

One of the guides mentioned to us that the ceilings were painted and the house redecorated for the promise of a King and Queen visit late in the 17th century. πŸ‘‘

They had a four year deadline to prepare the house, but shortly before the visit, the Queen passed from smallpox in 1694. It’s brutal out here. 😷

At least the Cavendish family ended up with a stunning house though πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

A few different artists and their teams painted the ceilings, but Antonio Verrio and Louis Laguerre are noted as the most famous after working on some pieces for the Royal Family. πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ¨

Definitely worth visiting to take a look around. They will be decorating for Christmas over the next few months so that will be an even better time to go πŸŽ„

A walk around the gardens of 🌺

Going to the Country Fair on the Friday was a good decision because it was so much quieter than going on a Saturday or Sunday like we did last year - so we made the most of how quiet it was around the gardens ⛲️

There is also a maze that took us a while to stop walking around in the same endless circles, but after what felt like an hour, we completed it! πŸ˜…

The β€˜Cavendo Tutus’ writing on the building - meaning safety through caution in Latin - is the Cavendish family motto and that is the biggest flex I have ever seen πŸ‘‘

August ended with a trip to Chatsworth Country Fair πŸŽ‘πŸŽ πŸ›οΈ

In the Grand Ring we got to see:

πŸ‡ The Knights of Middle England Jousting
🐴 British Scurry and Trials Driving
🏍️ Bolddog Freestyle Motocross Stunt Team

There was loads more to see, and we even got to go into Chatsworth House and the Gardens. I will post those soon! πŸ“Έ

If you live nearby it is worth a visit, because tickets are only Β£10 for adults, and in each area you visit there is a tour guide to speak to - plus it’s also just stunning inside πŸ›οΈ

We recently went to Tatton Park for a car show, and while that was on we wandered around the mansion and gardens that are there πŸ›οΈ

The Tatton Park estate used to belong to the Edgerton family for around 400 years. In 1958 they transferred the ownership to the National Trust to look after. It was like wandering around the set of Bridgerton or the Buccaneers! πŸͺ»

Visiting Mount Cook was one of the things I was most excited for during this trip to New Zealand and it delivered πŸ¦œπŸ”οΈ

I had seen so many photos on Instagram from people who had already been and it felt surreal to be there myself - but, it’s also a place where the photos don’t do it justice for how stunning it is πŸ“Έ

The bird in the first and fourth shot is a Kea - which is part of the parrot family - and can only natively be found in the South Island near alpine areas. They are listed as threatened because there’s less than 7,000 but are said to be one of the most intelligent birds 🦜

Never have I ever seen a lake this blue before πŸ’§

We drove up from Queenstown to Lake Tekapo and the views along the way were unbelievable πŸ”οΈ

The first four slides are from a viewpoint we stopped off at by Lake Pukaki which looked out to Mount Cook in the distance.

The last couple of slides are from when we arrived in Lake Tekapo, where they had a small church called The Church of the Good Shepherd - built in 1935 as a way to commemorate the early Pākehā (white non-Maori - usually European) settlers.

Kia ora, Queenstown πŸ‘‹πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ

We arrived into Queenstown on the 1st of February, with the most amazing mountain views from the plane windows on the way in to land πŸ›¬

It’s our first time ever in the South Island and we stayed in Queenstown for the first few nights. We completely fell in love with the town and could have spent a lot longer here ⛰️

I loved how slow the speed of the town is, and how friendly all of the locals we met are. Piano players would sit by the lake and play music, and there were also street performers near by making it a really interesting place to sit for a while 🎹

Already looking forward to being back there!
