Midland Premier League Playoff Final
Northwich Victoria 0v1 1874 Northwich
APEC Taxis Stadium (Runcorn)

Congratulations to all at who secured promotion with a 1-0 win over local rivals

A close fought match with both teams battling hard to secure promotion, this one looked set for another penalty shootout until Mike Hayes edged a tight shot past the Vics keeper in the 70th minute

A second yellow for Dale Jennings after a clumsy challenge in the keeper saw 74 down to 10 men with with 15 minutes to go, but Vics just couldn’t edge the advantage

20 frames. One big turnaround.

Warrington Town looked in control early on, dominating the first half and taking a deserved 2–0 lead. But after the break, Workington Town had other ideas — mounting a comeback to win 3–2 and secure their place in the NPL.

Not without its moments either, with a few head scratching decisions and a string of yellow cards

A game that turned on its head. ⚽

Warrington Town 0v1 Warrington Rylands
Northern Premier League - 6 April 26

Easter weekend ‘s Warrington Derby in the sunshine and in front of a attendance of 1946 started promising as the Yellows pressed from the off
But Ben Harcastle’s second half strike netted in off the post after 47 minutes giving all three points to the visitors, much to the delight of the away end

Warrington Town 0–2 Whitby Town
Northern Premier League – 28 Mar 26

A bright start from Town, piling on the early pressure and rattling the crossbar with a near miss. But after Whitby were allowed back into the game, the visitors struck first on 19 minutes.

A second goal just before half-time made the mountain even steeper, and from there the energy seemed to ebb away. Despite a few moments of intent, Warrington never found the spark needed to turn it around.

International break is the perfect time to get down to your local grass roots club and enjoy more of the same at a fraction of the cost.

Hard fought game today as both defences controlled the game. But a strong performance from the yellows to hold the league leaders to a point.
Fair result overall I thought, great to see the sunshine making an appearance.

Had a random thought today while shooting into harsh sunlight……. I couldn’t remember being at a game where the sun didn’t set behind the goals - do all football pitches face the same way?

Some shots from Sundays league cup tie between Kelsall WFC and Stockport WFC

Well done to the Kelsall ladies, despite the defeat, they played well throughout the game and had a few chances but Stockport had that little extra on the day.
