Just a teeny weeny bit chuffed that my photo of Stephen Jones at work during the award winning documentary "Statues Redressed" (the brainchild of Eddie Morgan) will be exhibited in Paris over the summer... Yesterday I was at the Leica Store Manchester picking up a camera and decided to have a wander around the city looking for locations. Not far from the Midland Hotel were a couple of newlyweds... it appeared to be a small do... no photographer... just the couple and I assume the bride's mum in finery - relying on iPhones. Cutting a long story short - they now have one official wedding photo!

Five years ago I met Holly Caroline for the first time... the editorial creative confidence in me Pre-COVID was at a high... I shot Holly in a concrete box (the contact sheets)... three weeks later I took over the Metquarter to photograph Holly... Make-up with MAC (contact sheet) and styling from Smudge Boutique both organised by me... the photos were published in San Diego... probably the nearest I'll ever get to being an "international fashion photographer". We did blooming good Holly!

Today was a multi-faceted day... I have a scratch that needs itching and it is film related... David Stephens's wonderful staff at Leica Store Manchester looked after me and let me loose on Manchester with a 1960s Leica... just to see if I could get a handle on it and work out the itch! After my foray into the rangefinder world with the Kiev 4 what I love about the rangefinder is that it isn't as confrontational out and about that an SLR style camera might be... everyone loved the idea of the cute film camera and was happy to pose. Wait for the next episode...

The award winning feature documentary "Statues Redressed" for Sky Arts was the brainchild of Eddie Morgan and I was pleased to be involved as the Stills Photographer. This is a project that keeps on giving... a thought provoking two hour documentary bringing statues to the fore and not brushing history under the carpet - in fact the exact opposite giving them to artists to make them stand out and tell a story! Daniel Lismore who redressed Disraeli at St George's Hall got me involved with the Welsh Government's "Public Commemoration in Wales: Guidance for Public Bodies" it was published last week and featured not only Daniel and Disraeli but also Larry Achiampong's redressing of Gladstone in a Pan African flag of his own design.https://www.gov.wales/sites/default/files/publications/2024-03/public-commemoration-in-wales-guidance.pdf the document's cover: Betty Campbell statue on Wood Street, Cardiff. This is a first! July 2022 in Manchester Town Hall I did a team photo for Recclesia while they were installing refurbished stained glass windows back in the town hall. Kate Waddicor recently turned my image into a screen printed piece of glass... nice to know images are used in different ways. Print your pics (not necessarily on glass though)!

I am beyond chuffed that the Maritime and Coastguard Agency combined my image that featured members of the RNLI West Kirby Lifeboat and Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team together with an image of a Breeches Buoy exercise in 1979 between RNLI & HM Coastguard to celebrate the RNLI's 200th birthday celebrations...
