I’m pretty sure Osian might just hold the record for the smiliest newborn I’ve ever photographed! 🥹

Almost every single pose we did came with one of these absolutely gorgeous smiles… and honestly, I’m choosing to believe he was just really enjoying his time with me. 🤫😂

And NO, before anyone says it… I will not be accepting “it’s wind” as an explanation. 😂

He just liked me very much. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. 🤣🤍

One of those poses that looks completely effortless in the final image… but there’s a LOT more going on behind the scenes 🐸🤍

The froggy pose is a composite image, meaning the final photograph is created from multiple safely captured images.

Baby is never left unsupported and hands never leave them. I take the images with myself (or a parent) providing the necessary support, and then carefully edit the supporting hands out afterwards.

So when you see the finished image, it might look like baby is sitting there independently… but they absolutely weren’t! 😅

Newborn photography should always be about baby’s safety first, before the pose, before the photograph and before anything else. 🤍

I thought I’d show you a little behind-the-scenes of the editing process so you can see just how much goes into creating these beautiful, seemingly impossible little poses 🥹✨

Because a safe pose is always the prettiest pose. 🤍 and osian absolutely smashed this pose!!

Two little newborns, one very special family 🤍

Maddison and her big brother Issac, both photographed as tiny newborns with me 🥹

There’s something so special about being trusted to capture these memories for one baby… and then being invited back when their little sibling arrives.

Looking back at Issac as a newborn and now photographing Maddison, it’s also lovely to see how much my work has grown and changed over the years. 🤍

Two completely different little personalities, two beautiful newborn sessions, and memories that I hope their family will treasure forever.

Sometimes families don’t have to be perfectly posed to get the perfect picture. 🤍

In fact, sometimes the best images are the ones where everyone is simply being themselves — the little ones wriggling around, cuddles happening naturally, someone looking at someone else, and all those little moments that make your family yours.

I love creating family photographs that don’t feel stiff or overly posed. Because years from now, I want you to look back and remember how it felt, not just how everyone stood. ✨
