I’ve had a lovely varied week of filming work this week. On Monday I was out with the at Cricieth and Gwynedd Maritime Service at Morfa Bychan. I’m putting together a new series of safety films for which will be out soon. On Thursday I was out with .cymru, filming around Conwy and Deganwy and learning loads about the sea food that’s on offer in our part of North Wales. Then yesterday I was working for and the in the Peak District, putting together a new film project for them. It’s fantastic to have such varied work on the go and to be able to get the creative juices flowing 😀

No one had flown off each of the Welsh 3000s before. It’s only recently that the kit has been light enough to make it feasible really. Having done a few of them I thought it made sense to have a crack at ticking off all fifteen - via some fun scrambles, beautiful sunrises and with good friends. My new film tells the story and will be live on YouTube from 17:00 Friday 8th November. I hope you enjoy it 😀

This week I’ve been joined by Mirriam, Irene, Sean, Steve, Eddie, Bob, Rohit and my lad Finlay. We’re spending the week on the Tour of the Jungfrau and today saw us walk from Schynige Platte (after a lovely ride on the cog railway) to the Hotel Faulhorn at 2670m. We walked up through the clouds and now are sitting with teasing views of the Eiger and surrounding peaks. Stunning!

Our walk today took us from La Sage to the Barrage de Moiry. A good 1200m pull over the Col du Torrent revealed the Bishorn, Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn and Matterhorn to name but a few. A lovely winding descent dropped us to startlingly blue Lac de Moiry and the end of our five day journey. Thank you to everyone for a wonderful week in a stunning part of the world.

Today’s walk took us from the Alpine village of Arolla to La Sage. We chose the high level path via Lac Bleu and savoured the scent of the Arolla Pines, dipped our toes in the ice cold water and even stopped for drinks at Pension Lac Bleu. A very different style of day to the previous ones and a welcome change of pace, one of the many things that makes the Haute Route so special.

Today saw us walk to Arolla from the Barrage Des Dix which is another cracking day on the Walkers Haute Route. We’ve been fortunate to have perfect weather as we soaked up glaciers, 4000m peaks and beautiful forest. A stunner.

I’m in the Alps this week with Lizzy, Matt, Jo, Sam, Mark, Mandy, Paul and Julia for week one of the Walkers Haute Route. It’s been pretty cloudy today but we’ve been teased with occasional views and it’s been a perfect temperature for walking. We’re in the Cabane de Louvie tonight which is always a stunning place to be.

This is an incredible achievement. Chrigel Maurer and Peter von Känel ‘open a new chapter in mountain movement’ as they climb-and-fly all 82 Alpine 4,000m peaks in just 51 days. It was an ambitious project: to climb all 82 of the Alpine 4,000m peaks, linking the summits for the first time by paraglider and foot, in less than 72 days. But after only 51 days of non-stop of climbing and flying the Swiss pilots Chrigel Maurer and Peter von Känel have succeeded in their epic quest, ending where they started, in the pair’s hometown of Frutigen.
