Absolute beaut of a day in the mountains for A&M last Friday. Everything worked out perfectly even if there were a few moments when it looked like the heavens were going to open up (and we didn’t quite get that gorgeous sunset light we were hoping for) but nothing could have dampened their spirits and I couldn’t be happier for these two who wanted time to just be in the moment and quietly commit to one another in a place that means so much to them before signing the legal papers and celebrate with friends & family in a few weeks’ time. It felt so so special to be stood in that breathtakingly beautiful spot and watch them make promises and give rings to one another, committing to each other in the only way that felt right to them.

What an incredibly romantic way to start off married life together; it gives me so much joy and makes me so so happy that I was able to help turn their dream into reality, what a beautiful adventure!!

Thinking you’d love to elope in Wales and actually knowing where to start are two very different things :)

You might know you want mountains. A lake. A quiet bit of coastline. Your dog(s) there. Your favourite people. Or absolutely nobody else. That’s plenty. I never expect couples to come to me with a location, timeline and whole wedding day already figured out. Helping with all of that is a huge part of what I do.

We’ll find the places, work out what you actually want to do with your day, figure out what works for everyone coming with you and put it all together without cramming the day full of things just because it’s a wedding ;)

You really can start with: “We want to elope somewhere beautiful in Wales and we have absolutely no idea what happens next.”

I can work with that :)

A Llyn Gwynant legal elopement with family - gathering their nearest & dearest, including their three children, for a few hours of celebrating and sharing some food together in a beautiful spot right in the heart of Eryri.

A beautifully relaxed little ceremony, time with the people who matter most and then a wander around the lake, just the two of them, to take it all in amongst those incredible mountain views.

Eloping absolutely doesn’t have to mean just the two of you. You can celebrate with your favourite people and still carve out some time to yourselves afterwards to bask in that newly-married feeling for a little while :)

One of the things I really love about having a hand in putting these days together is that every single one ends up looking completely different.

And S&H’s is a pretty good reminder that it doesn’t necessarily take a year (or two!) to plan a really beautiful wedding day. These two 100% knew what mattered to them, kept it small, embraced their own personalities and somehow we pulled the whole thing together in just TWO MONTHS :)

Their legal ceremony was at Penarth Fawr with only their closest family & friends, followed by Bollinger and the most delicious carrot cake baked by S’s mum. And then off we went to the coast, where playing games on the beach ended up being one of the absolute highlights of the day. And by complete chance, the RNLI were holding a fundraiser there - so obviously wedding-day burgers on the beach had to happen :) Drinks, games, burgers, ridiculous views and then a walk back together as the sun went down - what a way to spend your wedding day!

Nothing felt like it had been added just because it was a wedding, it was just very THEM and I think that’s why I loved it so much.

Such a wholesome little day and proof that if you keep an open mind, do things your own way and embrace the unexpected bits that sound like fun along the way, getting married really doesn’t have to become a massive year-long production :)

Congrats again Harry & Sadie - absolutely loved putting this one together with you!

What if getting married really could be this simple?

Let’s start with the two of you. Who do you actually want there? Where in Wales would you love to spend the day? How would you like to get married? And what would you genuinely enjoy doing afterwards?

That’s basically where we start :)

One of my favourite things about elopements is that two days can look completely different. A quiet legal ceremony and lunch with your family. Private vows beside a lake followed by a mountain walk. Dogs, cake and the coast. A celebrant somewhere wild followed by dinner at a really good pub.

There isn’t a template you need to follow.
