Last month, I had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Bau Cat, a North Wales trio whose sound is as sun-soaked and harmony-rich as their energy is infectious to the ' vestry' here just outside Carmarthen befire heading off with them to Carmathen's Cwrw. Recently signed to Libertino Records, the band — Abby Butler (vocals & bass), Jim Davies (guitar & vocals), and Jack Wells (drums & vocals) — blend 60s West Coast pop, psychedelic vibes, and soaring three-part harmonies.

This shoot was a total joy — huge thanks to Gruff at Libertino for the commission, and to Abby, Jim, and Jack for being such great humans to work with. One to watch, without a doubt.

Last month, I had the joy of photographing Helios by the brilliant artist Luke Jerram at the stunning Dyffryn Gardens — a breathtaking seven-metre spherical sculpture inspired by our sun. Created with incredible detail (each centimetre representing 2,000 kilometres of the sun’s surface - Helios captures the awe, beauty, and mystery of our closest star.

Accompanied by a haunting NASA soundscape by Duncan Speakman and Sarah Anderson, the installation invites visitors of all ages to experience the power and presence of the sun like never before. Set against the vibrant South Front displays and reflective water features, it was a treat to shoot.

Big thanks to Milly & The National Trust for the commission

I had the pleasure of photographing the brilliant team behind Solar Buddies, a clever child-friendly sunscreen applicator that’s been making waves with parents across the UK. Created by Laura Waters and Kelli Aspland, the product was born out of their own struggles to help their children apply sunscreen — and it’s since gone on to appear on Dragons' Den, securing backing from Deborah Meaden and Peter Jones.

The shoot was for The Sunday Times, and it was a joy to capture the inventors behind this simple yet game-changing idea. Big thanks to James for the commission, and to Laura and Kelli for being lovely..

Steve Moore, Chief Executive of Hywel Dda UHB, said: “We are confident that everyone in priority groups 1 to 4 will be offered a vaccine by Monday 15 February thanks to the amazing efforts of vaccinating teams across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

“However, people change phone numbers or move to a new house and may not always update their contact details with health services. This is why we want to make absolutely sure no one has missed an appointment for their vaccination.”

*Phonelines are open Monday to Friday between 9am to 5pm, Saturday 6 February only between 10am to 4pm, and Sunday 7 February only between 10am to 3pm.
