I’ve debated posting this for a long time but fear of judgement and gossip got the better of me.. but days like today I just think it needs to be said. So here is me, at the start of this year in psychiatric care. I nearly gave up, I nearly stopped fighting and had absolutely nothing left to give the world or myself.
But what I did do - was still travel on the train on day release from my ward to shoots. There’s only one person in this industry who knew this until now, and he saved my life with his support. When a lot of you first met me, I wasn’t going home, but to a room with hourly checks through the night and a locked door.
I couldn’t let anyone down, and the hair industry lit a match to keep my fire burning.
So why am I posting this? Mostly because I need to remind myself how much can change in a year. When I feel low I need to scroll back through these posts and think hell, I made it! My career is the best it’s ever been, and I’m so bloody grateful to everyone who has been so supportive, kind, welcoming, patient, inspiring.. and human. But also just to remind every one that you never know what is going on for others, so please always be kind. I’m in a great place now, thank you for giving me a light at the end of my tunnel 💚

I’m over the moon to have such supportive and talented humans backing me, they sometimes feel like my own personal cheerleaders and I hope I can make them proud 🥰
Loads of work from this summer to be posted soon, it has been a very exciting year! 😍

What people see of my work vs what people don’t see..
I don’t just turn up with a camera, I don’t just take a photo. I create a photo, from over 11 years of professional photography experience I may have learnt to make it look easy, but the grind that goes into creating the magic is real. 30 seconds of video can take two days to perfect, and an image needs transforming for it to become the vision. ✨
