Love this piece of work from the "Textiles in the Park" exhibition in the stable block at Morden Hall Park. This is based on the waterwheel rim that sits against one of walls of the stable block.

Was here tonight giving a talk on the Ashby's and the Wandle. This is Brixton Windmill. Having lost wind power at Brixton due to building development they started using two mills on the Wandle. That at less is one theory? The other is the mills on the Wandle enabled to increase production as both mills had more sets of mill stones than the two at Brixton. One mill was the Lower Mill at Butter Hill, Carshalton and the other Grove Mill, Mitcham Bridge. When the family left Grove Mill it brought to the end corn milling at Mitcham Bridge after 900 years. They had already left the Carshalton mill.
