Some previews from one of this weekends shoots. Sweet baby Isla and her parents were down in London for the weekend and we finally got to have our long-awaited shoot. Isla is 3 months and was an absolute delight 🥰 I’ve said it before and I won’t stop saying it - one of my favourite things about a lifestyle photography approach is being able to document babies at any age not just as newborns. ❤️

When should you schedule your newborn shoot? ❤️ Lifestyle newborn photography is a conscious decision I made when starting my photography journey. You see, Mason’s newborn shoot was booked for just after his due date. However, he was an eager beaver and arrived at 35 weeks after which he spent 3 weeks in the NICU. Luckily my newborn photographer had a lifestyle approach so it wasn’t a problem that he was over a month when we finally did his shoot. This made it so important for me to be able to give my moms the same flexibility if need be. As a general guideline I recommend having your newborn shoot when bubs is between 8-12 days old, but because my approach is lifestyle, it is totally fine to do it whenever is right for you!

As my focus is lifestyle photography, my newborn sessions take place at your home. I focus on natural baby-led poses rather than dress baby up and pose them. I always say baby is the star of the show and we take our lead from her/him. If bubs wants to sit and breastfeed the whole time that’s cool, we work around that, we just go with the flow. I want your experience to be comfortable, fun and relaxed, because that’s when I capture your most beautiful, genuine moments of this magical time in your family’s life ❤️
