MEET THE DESIGNER 🤍
Hi, I’m Sally — the face behind SVE Fashion.
I’m 41, a fashion designer, business owner and mum to my gorgeous 8-year-old daughter.
Fashion has been my dream for as long as I can remember. As a little girl, I would sit in my room with a sketchbook, drawing designs day and night.
Design was my escapism. It still is.
Education wasn’t easy for me. I struggled academically and often felt different, but my creative mind was always full of ideas.
The system wasn’t made for me.
After leaving school, I went to beauty college, where I discovered how much I loved making women feel happy and confident. But deep down, I knew I was meant to do something more. So I travelled to Australia alone.
After six months travelling around Oz, I realised exactly what I wanted:
I wanted to become a fashion designer.
I didn’t know how I was going to make it happen, but I had confidence and I didn’t really understand the word “no”.
So I thought… why not? Let’s wing it! 😂
And somehow, it worked.
I secured a place on a fashion design course at Salford University. Twenty years ago, I walked through those doors having never written an essay in my life. Then I was asked to write one for homework.
So I did it. Then another. And another.
Because I wanted it that badly.
I graduated in 2009 and went on to work across the fashion industry, from fast fashion to couture in London.
In December 2010, I opened my own boutique in Tarporley, Cheshire.
Since then, SVE Fashion has showcased at London Fashion Week, appeared on a reality TV show featuring Rihanna, and I was honoured to win Fashion Designer of the Year in 2012.
Through motherhood, personal struggles, illness, Covid and many other challenges, SVE Fashion has grown into a brand loved by women around the world, with clients as far as the USA and Australia.
Every step of the way has come down to one thing:
BELIEF.
There have been times when running a business has felt lonely and I’ve felt like I had nothing left to give.
But somehow, you find a little more.
So if you’re struggling, please remember:
You are not alone.
You are seen.
You are capable of more than you think.
Keep believing in yourself ❤️
