Final week at Willesden Gallery with "From There To Here".
until Saturday 23rd March.
From There to Here is more than an exhibition; it is a collective exploration of common themes that have emerged from the diverse and thought-provoking works presented during the course. Each artist, through presenting a series of works, delved into the intricacies of self and identity, the exploration of past and present, and the profound examination of memories, and the power of chance.

New exhibition!

"From There To Here"

Sarah de Rozario | Emma Davis | Karen Dodd | Tim Stubbs Hughes

Tuesday 12th to Saturday 23rd March 2024

Private View: Wed 13th March 2024

FROM THERE TO HERE explores the impact of time. On work. On process. On time itself.

For a year, THE 306 COLLECTIVE met monthly to discuss and share their work. Through this process, and the diversity of their individual practices, several common themes emerged: self and identity, the exploration of past and present, the examination of memories, and the power of chance.

FROM THERE TO HERE is an exhibition by the artists that seeks to consider the time they spent meeting and to create a visual and visceral response. Each artist is presenting work that reflects upon the time within each other’s presence, the experience of shared thoughts, and allows for an individual’s artistic process to be combined with a collective’s energy.

Time is a powerful medium, and the artists’ work reflects on its essence. It enables the remembrance of events, individuals, and ideas. This show offers viewers the opportunity to explore and experience the perspectives of the artists, portraying a rich tapestry of feelings and cultural expressions.

Works in the exhibition include painting, collage, drawing, photography, sculpture and textiles. The intention is to create a space where visitors can experience and reflect on their own journeys, memories, and the ever-shifting nature of time.

"7 Spice Peking Duck"
A summer meal at my mother’s house in 2019.
On the 7th September 2019, my step-father passed away.
This project is the capturing of a specific moment in time. It is a meal that I and and my partner cooked for my father-in-law Alan and my mother at her house in the summer of 2019. Months before, Alan had been given the news that he had an incurable blood disease and was given a few months to live. Following the news, and to support them both, I began to travel more frequently to the town that I grown up in, and to the house that I had lived in until I was 18 years old.
The photographs represent the formal setting of the meal, its preparation, its consumption and then the final echoes of a time that is passings.

“Trump faces 91 criminal charges under four indictments: 40 for retaining classified information, 34 for hush-money payments to an adult film actor, 13 for attempted election subversion in Georgia and four for attempted federal election subversion.” c/o The Guardian.

Think on that.

Super proud and excited to be part of the “Exploring grief and loss through art” exhibition Willesden Gallery, showing work with 40 other artists.
Opening night very well attended (we were packed in) and it was buzzing with artists and audience who were talking about, and taking in, all of the work.
Some really nice comments made about “7 Spice Peking Duck” and I had lovely conversations with people I knew and those I met for the first time.
Massive shout-out for Nadia Nevro who curated the exhibition.
Go see – on until Feb 23rd (link in bio).
