May has been flirting with us!

It gave us a few days to bask in the sun and feel the warmth on our skin (is there a better feeling after months of grey?). And then, like an errant lover, blasted us with rain, wind, frost and hail.

May in a nutshell - all tease, none of the commitment!

I’ve been meaning to post about golden hour branding sessions for weeks now, but the weather has been spectacularly uncooperative. Managed to sneak these ones in between the weather tantrums and it’s exactly why golden hour is worth waiting for - seriously, let the light do the work for you.

If you want a golden hour shoot in the UK, you’re taking your chances but when it works….it’s worth the gamble.

If this kind of vibe is part of your brand strategy (or you’ve been putting off a shoot because British weather is... British weather), drop me a line.

Let’s make it happen while summer still lies ahead of us ☀️

I’ve definitely been there myself (more than once) - having a finished email or a post idea ready to go, and then just not sending it because the photo attached didn’t feel right.

It’s usually because the image feels a bit too stiff or dated, or maybe it just doesn’t feel like a reflection of who you are anymore. We tell ourselves it isn’t a big deal but that little bit of hesitation about how we’re showing up is a thing - you want to show up as you! A reflection of who your clients meet - whether its your warmth, your energy, your drive or simply the support you offer.

It isn’t really about having “pretty pictures” for the sake of it. It’s having a library of images that actually match the work that you do - so you can stop overthinking the visual side of things and just get back to the parts of your business you actually enjoy.

If you’ve been holding back on a post because you’re waiting for the right photo, consider this a nudge to just post it anyway. Or, if you’re ready to get some images that you actually feel proud to share, let’s have a chat.

Celebrating for her new book launch!

I’ve worked with her a few times now, and I’m always struck by how much she invests in the people around her—that kind of generosity really sets the tone for a room. She has this knack for making sure everyone in the room feels included.

A brilliant evening for a brilliant person.

Swipe through for some of my favourite moments from the night.

(Great venue choice - if you’re looking for a cinema as part of your event, you’ve just found it!!! And, off course, if you’re looking for an event photographer…..well you found that too!)

This is what it looks like before the momentum hits…

A few tiny tweaks—adjusting the way you’re leaning, finding the right positioning for your hands, and making sure the background isn’t doing more work than you are.

Most people think a brand session is about getting “good photos.” It’s not!

It’s about having images that finally match the work you’re already doing.

One shoot - that’s all it takes.

We’ve all been there. The mirror says “yes,” but the camera roll says “absolutely not.”

It’s the gap between how you feel in your own skin and what the lens actually captures - it’s never about how you look. It’s about the pressure of the “performing” and trying to do a lot of things all at the same time.

When you’re busy worrying about angles, tech, script, props and how your chin is positioned, the camera catches the effort not you.

I don’t just to press a button - it’s about creating a space that feels composed and relaxed enough that you don’t have to “try” at all. You just show up, and the camera finally sees what you see in the mirror.

If you’re ready to close the gap between your reflection and your brand photos, I’ve got 11am and 12pm left for April 29th.

Let’s get you sorted. (Link in bio)

I spend a lot of time “location scouting” (just a fancy way of saying don’t ever go out for a walk with me somewhere nice) before my camera ever leaves my bag.

A good brand photo is never just about you looking at the camera; it’s about the whole atmosphere surrounding it. People sometimes ask why I’m so picky about the environment for a shoot.

It’s because the space you’re in isn’t just a background—it’s helps tell a story for your business.

I’m always hunting for a setting that feels composed and intentional. When we get the backdrop right, you’re not performing. The space works for you, conveying authority and trust before you’ve even said a word.

Just a reminder that where you stand matters just as much as how you stand.

Enjoy the ☀️

I’m always telling my clients that their brand imagery should be doing the heavy lifting for them - quite literally as you can see!

In all seriousness, running your own business is a workout. Between admin, client work and the constant “what do I post today?” scroll, it can feel like you’re pushing water up a hill (or a car!).

This why I really focus on getting the right photos. Pretty is great, strategic is better…

When you have a set of images that actually capture the vibe of your brand, you can stop pushing so hard and it stops feeling like a performance. You just show up, pick a photo that feels like you, and get back to the work you actually love doing.

If you’re tired of the manual labor of “showing up” online, let’s get you sorted.

My 30-minute Spring Sessions on April 29th are designed to give you that visual foundation so your photos can start taking the weight for a bit.

Only a few spots left—link in bio to grab one before they’re gone.
