When I saw these photos I remembered of a place called Villa dei Misteri in Pompeii.
In that place there is a room full of paintings that is believed to be a cult to the Roman God Dionysus however until now nobody knows what is that about. That made me think that everybody has their mysteries and live their own myths and we might never know where we are going to or what we will become, but I guess somehow while we are winging through life we are slowly unfolding life’s mysteries and accepting who we are and that, I think, that is the real stuff.

I was very excited about this project because and I share the same cultural background so It was very inspiring for me to hear about his creative process and listen to how he got from a simple idea to something tangible and beautiful with a strong message behind.

I love to photograph artist. ♥️

“As I looked back to my memories surrounded by de Gaucho culture, as I was inspired by the traditional Southern Brazil garments and the landscape of the Pampas, a vast plain with very fertile soil.

Also, my inspiration for this project was the resilience and strength of the Brazilian people, and how even despite the adversities that the Brazilian society has been facing, we still have an optimistic vision for better days in the future.
My creative process was experimental, where I could test silhouettes and drapes on the mannequin in order to explore shapes to complete the human body. The main material was double silk organza, due to its fineness and lightness, however structured, it can give the desired volume and movement. In addition, all silks were hand-dyed by me, to achieve the look of watercolor painting of my country’s landscapes.

Finally, to make the pieces, tailoring and haute couture techniques were used to give the finish according to the fashion market. Also, This project challenges the gender constructions of the gaucho culture, which is very male-centric, homophobic and masculine.”
