20260618 London, UK; Demonstrators gather outside the court following the sentencing of Chi Leung “Peter” Wai, 40, and Chung Biu “Bill” Yuen, 65, in the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) spying case. Wai was sentenced to 10 years in prison and Yuen to 8 years after being found guilty of assisting a foreign intelligence service under the UK National Security Act. Members of the Hong Kong community in the UK staged a protest outside the court after the hearing, expressing support for the court’s decision and raising concerns about alleged Chinese state-linked espionage activities in UK.
