Recently I was gifted a Rolleiflex for my birthday from my darling husband and I’m absolutely loving making photographs with it. Making the opportunity to slow down and look, see and put myself out there in the world is pure unadulterated therapy. I have made photographs on a medium format camera since university.
A couple of weeks ago as I waited for Eti to make my mum’s cappuccino and my nephew’s hot chocolate, I watched her confidently moving around her space putting care into what she was doing. Silently, I opened my camera, adjusted the settings and made the photograph. After I told Eti what I’d done and that her face wasn’t visible. She didn’t mind at all and asked me to share the picture after I’d developed the film. Here it is Eti, thank you!
Need more practise at holding the camera still at 1/15th second wide open. It’s the practice that’s fulfilling…
