I have been pierced in many places. I got my tongue pierced when I was 16, and had a bet with my brother that I wouldn’t...I went and got it done the next day, and bearing in mind this was in 1996 when it wasn’t as common as it is today, no one in my family, including my brother, was impressed. I kept it in for a day before in to my parents pressure to take it out. Since then I’ve had my nose and eyebrow done but nowadays I’m pretty much free of any jewellery. This shot was from a shoot with - a jewellery rental company with the novel idea of renting out items which you can then buy or send back...no tongue rings though, fortunately ;)

Autumn leaves is what we wanted and autumn leaves is what we got. Took a bit of planning and replanning but we got the right day in the end!

Jez Gunetilleke shot against one of the ever changing street art designs in Brick Lane. I love the fact that it’s an ever changing landscape, which makes shoots more interesting, as I often don’t know what will be there or not from one day to the next. If you are a fan of street art then you owe it yourself to come to Shoreditch and why not have a photoshoot at the same time ;)?
