What does the Creative Kin podcast studio have in common with London's Uber Boat?
We both started with the absolute essentials and built from there. 🛥️🎙️
The River Boat service started back in 1999 with just one vessel, the Storm Clipper, skippered by CEO Sean Collins.
When Creative Kin launched in April 2021, our "fleet" was just as lean.
Our flagship asset was the Electro-Voice RE20 microphone.
And all our early commissions were personally produced and edited by our own CEO, Jason Caffrey.
Today the Uber Boat fleet includes hybrid-powered Aurora-class catamarans, delivering passengers to Royal Arsenal from Canary Wharf, Greenland (Surrey Quays), Masthouse Terrace, North Greenwich, Greenwich, Royal Wharf and Barking Pier.
And the Creative Kin podcast studio has evolved too.
Our broadcast-grade multi-cam studio is built around the Blackmagic ATEM Mini Extreme ISO video switcher.
With eight dedicated inputs it can handle five cameras, a remote video line, live b-roll integration, and live motion graphics playback too.
It's maybe not quite as sexy as a 32-knot catamaran.
But to our eyes, it’s just as powerful.
Best of all, since moving to our upgraded studio at Woolwich Works, brands, business leaders, and creators can step off the Uber Boat at Woolwich Pier and be sat behind our mics in a matter of minutes.
From cast-off to mic-check, the entire experience is 100% step-free, and built for performance.
