Highlights from Day 1 of Africa Fashion Week London 2026

Monday marked the start of the 16th Edition of AFWL with the official press conference and an intimate designer showcase at Tales House.

The press conference featured AFWL Founder Queen Ronke Ademiluyi-Ogunwusi, Creative Director Bola Obileye and Head Designer Samson Soboeye , alongside designers, brands and creatives taking part in this year's edition.

The evening also included a special guest appearance from Nigerian singer, songwriter and performer Yemi Alade.

A look back at some of the moments from the opening day, with plenty more to come throughout the week.

Looking forward to capturing another year of incredible designers, models and creatives as we celebrate African fashion, culture and innovation.
