Cracking weekend of filming with and with the Royal marines association and their activities before and during a commemoration to mark 40 years since the Falklands War. Also the twinning of Portsmouth with the Falkland Islands and the granting of the Key to the City to the Royal Marines association. Phew! Busy weekend!

I don't have any links to the military or have any specific interest in the culture but I mentioned to Ben over the weekend that it felt like such a huge privilege to be there, right up and close to the events happening in front of us. It's fantastic to get the opportunity to look and discover beyond our immediate circle of people and circumstance. When I started out in this job I never expected this to be one of the main reasons why this job is pretty cool sometimes. This sort of stuff keeps you humble!

It was a pleasure to be collaborating with Ben and Sonya for the first time. Lots more to come!

Getting set up for a shoot today at a festival and it occurred to me that I could use an old Canon telezoom on my Sony camera with an adapter ring I have lying around. I thought I would be best to try out some test footage since I haven't used it a while and I caught these two foxes fooling around just beyond my garden fence.

It also occurred to me that I don't really know what foxes sound like, so I made some guesses. I think I got pretty close.

What a day of deliveries! Us videographers take our oral hygiene as seriously as our glass. Just need to order some filters for the lenses. It's going to be bright with my shiny teeth!
