I was replying to a client enquiry about doing headshots in Wimbledon and was looking up places to recommend for it.

I know Wimbledon village very well as I have been many times and have done client photos in the area and in Cannizzaro park (a big favourite with families).

I put together my recommendations looking at google maps and pinning various places in Wimbledon village that we can explore while there on the day.

Whilst doing this I came across Wimbledon Museum, which I have not visited (a new place to discover) and checked it afterwards. Looks great and something I'd take a look in an afternoon.

I also spotted this video about the past of Wimbledon and how it came to be. As well as the other areas we live in, Wandsworth for example I find it fascinating to look at the evolution and how they were very different 200 years ago.

It has been so long since a little rain… and it rained this morning. But it stopped after I finished this morning’s photos.

Still the grass will be a little fresher and there’ll be a little more food for the birds.

I am back and showing my face - hi all! How’s your summer been?

I’m lucky to go back to my home for a month in the summer something I’ve been doing for the past few years…

We came back at the weekend and I headed off to a co-working session on Monday which set me off in a nice way.

The parks are still looking dry and ressemble the parks when I grew up, they always had the brown dry look in the summer but came to life as soon as the summer was over.

Where is the rain???

Back to work and on the case although I do keep up and stay on top of things when away with a few long days of completely switching off.

The hope in Wandsworth Common was looking very jolly and the roads also seemed quiet and calm.

It’s the quiet before the busyness of September.

Coming back ready for September has always been a challenge but not so much this time.

I have over the years worked with many lawyers, accountants, financial advisors, coaches, therapists, sales and business consultants, academics, authors and podcasters. Without realising it and without necessarily calling for it.

What I have come to realise recently is that these are the people who want to work with me.

I wouldn’t change it. In fact I love it.

I have come to learn what they have in common - the experience, expertise and skills. Also being leaders in their fields and driving conversations and leading change.

What has also happened is that I have learnt from them. I have genuinely enjoyed meeting them, having conversations, asking questions about what they do and how they do it.

I like to think that I am a good addition to their expertise and that photography and meeting me helps them in their journey.

In the same way as they help me in my journey.

Mutual elevation but also enjoyment stand out for me when working with experts.

Who needs a photographer when you have AI

Spending time on socials (Linkedin in particular) we get the total vibe of AI and the feeling that many jobs are a thing of the past.

Photography being one of them, but also a few others - content, video, SEO etc.

Things are changing and some parts of these roles are now being done by AI - something many of us are using (me included).

Which can affect photography and how many people are booking a photographer. Photography can be seasonal with more busy seasons than others (depending on the industry, for me end of July and August are quiet). But this year has been very up and down.

Yes AI is making it easier to do some tasks - generally but more than take away bookings it might be adding to a feeling of let’s wait and see and information overload.

Visibility is important, we all agree.

Why? Because presence, connection and trust are important in life. Whether for a business or at work.

However we go through phases and in some of them we are more or less visible.

Making an effort for visibility can often feel like forced or not authentic, vain or just for the sake of it.

But if we want to grow, the business or career being visible is the first step. No one ever promoted someone who does the work but doesn’t take the credit… and like energy nothing stats still, we are always changing and evolving.
