I think it’s fair to say the world has changed a bit since my last post! Though, some things never change. Kirkjufell has been around for millennia, and I thought on a cold morning like this it might be nice to be reminded that cold can be beautiful too. Take care of yourselves folks. More photography to come through the winter.

Always grateful for everyone who interacts with my work. Thank you. Based on the popularity of the previous post I thought I’d post another Icelandic Landscape - this one facing away from Kirkjufell towards the mountainous centre of the island. Maybe I’ll turn around and show you Kirkjufell in the next photo 🤪

The scale of Gulfoss is mind boggling. 140 cubic meters of water flow down this waterfall every second. It sounds like thunder and you can feel the floor vibrating. I spent pretty much the entire time wiping my lens 💁‍♂️

Such exciting times! Who’d have thought a self taught enthusiast, working full time, using a dusty old D800 camera could compete at this level.

Instead of trying to become instagram famous posting every day, I’ve focussed on being grateful for the lovely folk who follow and support me, and worked hard to create the best possible imagery I could muster. Often this means discarding hundreds of “good” photos even after editing.

This is a wonderful validation that the 2-5 hours I spend editing each photo individually are well spent 🙂

With special thanks to my top fans and of course, Mum. 😂

This is the shortlisted image - Llyn Ogwen.

Proud to have sent off my eight final submissions to Landscape Photographer of the Year today. Tremendous competition with great winners every year. Will be eagerly awaiting the results!

Special thanks to for helping me go through the archives and pick which images to enter. @ Fairy Glen Gorge

The last time we drove to Scotland we listened to a podcast about its Geology. These epic mountains are remnants of Cambrian stone formations from ancient volcanoes. They also have great distilleries up there somewhere 🧐

Seljalandsfoss is one of the most awe inspiring things I’ve ever seen. Architecture can be great, don’t get me wrong - but I could never have felt like this around anything man made. Natural high at its finest.

Remaining at home doesn’t have to be a sad thing. I’ve really enjoyed strengthening my connection to my hobbies and over the last few weeks. This terrarium took hours, and I would never usually have dedicated so much time and care to it without this event.

This tiny world will now grow and create its own enclosed ecosystem in our home for decades.

Wales is a world class hiking destination- with great, accessible hikes for those a little less mobile too. When all this madness blows over, get over there and explore. No better place to start than Snowdonia.

This is one of my all time favourites because it combines great light (which is so dependent on luck) and a fantastic subject. The day hike to get here was brutal. @ Tour De Mont Blanc - TMB Trail

First off, I hope everyone is ok and coping with the distancing. Always here for a chat if needed. Today I thought I’d start posting something a little different.

Most of landscape photography is done in photoshop - cameras aren’t nearly as amazing as the human eye and so you have to edit a photo to help it reflect the reality of the view you saw.

So in an effort to encourage people to feel like they too can create great images, I’m now going to post before and after shots showing the photo directly off camera and post edit. I learned how to do this myself using YouTube and some other websites, and will happily share my process if you’d like to spend your isolation time learning a new skill 🤓 @ Swiss Alps, Switzerland
