A little drop of what makes me ME for your feed today. 💜

Creating this little “Nicole Crossword” took longer than I’d like to admit. 😅 I didn’t state the obvious, but it features a lot anyway - I’m obsessed with all things and shades of purple. (She writes while wearing lilac dungarees, purple trainers and a refreshed purple head of hair.💜)

Other things that fuel me and are part of who I am:

📸 Creativity - Can’t draw to save my life, but I think I take decent photos (😅), love colouring books and always enjoy consuming art in all shapes and forms and am a step away from starting a new creative hobby… which leads me to…

🦄 ADHD - I don’t talk that much about it, but I was diagnosed last year and it’s been an eye opener on many levels and a real internal struggle. I wouldn’t have it any other way though.

🧋Frappes - or any other iced coffees or chai are my fuel and guilty pleasure, weirdly enough I could drink one at 10 pm and go to sleep without any issues. What’s that about? An ADHD thing?

🤝🏻 Network - I love meeting peopl, getting to know them and making new friends. It’s one of my favourite things about being a branding photographer and …

💻 Biz Owner - I can’t think of anything more fulfilling and anxiety inducing. I’ve been running my business for 12 years, 10 of which full time and I can’t imagine going back to corporate life.

👖 Yaks - My wardrobe mostly consists of Lucy & Yak and it’s a real problem for my bank account and wardrobe space. But also a great way to connect with like minded and awesome people It brings me JOY.

✨ Real - You won’t find any pretence here. I hate nothing more than fake people and one-sided success stories that don’t talk about the hard work, mistakes and failures along the way. Realness or authenticity is also a big thing in my work, no heavy photoshopping, fake posing or pretending to be something you’re not. Real people are so much more interesting with all their layers and imperfections. No one is perfect and that’s a good thing.

That got deep quickly. 😅

Not to scare the sh*t out of anyone, but somehow 2026 has flown by fast and Q4 is almost upon us. 😬🫠

Look at this lot. 🥹

Not a single one of these people does the same job. Voice artist, accountant, therapist, someone who hosts sewing retreats and teaches classes online. On paper they’ve got nothing in common.

Except they all rocked up a varying degrees of nervous about being photographed and left with confidence, inspiration and photos they adore. That’s the plot twist I’m here for every single time.

Because it was never about the job title. 2700-odd shoots in and it’s not important what’s on your business card to me. I care that you’re a good egg building something you are passionate about.

And this is just the 2026 highlight reel. Loads more didn’t make the slides. Brand designers, a charity, more doctors and coaches, whole industries I’ve shot on repeat.

So. If you’re a small business owner or founder with a bit of soul, congratulations, you’re my type on paper. It’s mostly women round here, but lovely progressive men, the door is very much open. As long as you’re vibing with how I work and what I stand for, we’re A Ok.

Peek at the last slide. And if your job title isn’t up there? Doesn’t matter even slightly. I’ve never once booked someone based on their industry.

Thanks for listening to my TED talk… 😅🫠👀

Joking aside… Waiting for courage and confidence to arrive first is a losing game. It doesn’’t just magically arrive, it comes with doing the scary thing. It’s a muscle you need to build and train. 💪🏻

Take it from someone who’s been hiding behind her camera and her client work for almost a decade. 🫣

It’s not just about booking a personal branding shoot. This is about all the other scary and uncomfortable things like pitching for a big job , guesting on a podcast or starting your own, going for that speaker gig you’ve been eying for a while or whatever it is that you’re hesitating to do.

trust me, it will pay off and before you know what you ask yourself what the big deal was why you where waiting for so long to do it.

You know what’s also kinda chic? Actually liking a photo of yourself. Revolutionary concept, apparently. 🤯

My favourite kind of client books nervously, spends the first few minutes apologising for being “so awkward”, then forgets to be self-conscious by minute 10 because we’re having far too much fun. That’s the whole trick, really. Camera shyness isn’t a personality trait, it just needs the right person behind the lens.

So if you’re brilliant at what you do but you’ve been hiding behind one good photo or some „meh“ selfies since roughly 2022, come say hi. We’ll go gently, and yes, you’re actually allowed to enjoy it.

And remember that hating photos of yourself is not a life sentence, it’s just a lack of the right photographer. 📸
