Today my parents have been married for 40 years! 🥹
I thought this photo and post deserved to be on the grid, as with the state of the world today, and with 40%+ of marriages ending in divorce, we need stories that celebrate love and longevity.
My parents have been married happily for 40 years and 39 of those I have been crashing the party. It blows my mind a little bit.
This union also speaks volumes about something that I often think and talk about, which are the ancestral powers behind me, the ones that I know will continue to carry me through once my last living ancestors (pictured) transition into the spirit world - my parents came from war survivors with CPTSD, and have transmuted all sorts of ancestral and inter-generational wounds into magic, fulfilment, and a bloody good life. We’re all here temporarily, and if this story is to be a testament to anything, let it be that we can all find peace, no matter what. I love love ♥️
Ps. The pictures are from a lil fun project we did this summer - recreating photos from my childhood in the countryside, this time in my parents’ countryside home of dreams, a real full circle moment.
