You're literally watching a plant make oxygen in real time. This is what aquatic photosynthesis actually looks like.

Those bubbles on the leaf are oxygen, made seconds ago.

Aquarium keepers call it pearling. A submerged plant photosynthesises faster than the water can dissolve the oxygen, so the excess breaks out as bubbles.

Researchers at Germany's Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research measured the gas coming off three aquarium plant species in 2024. It ran 21% to 45% oxygen. Ordinary air is about 21%.

So that leaf is producing gas at least as oxygen-rich as the air in your lungs. Live.

ONCE A YEAR. That's it. 🌋

For just 2 weeks every February, the sun hits Horsetail Fall at the perfect angle and creates this impossible glow. Thousands of people gather for a 10-minute window where nature turns water into fire.

This is the Yosemite Firefall – and it only happens when every single element aligns perfectly. ☄️

Would you camp out for days to see this? 🔥

Today, we remember Steve Irwin on the anniversary of his passing, a man whose love for animals changed the way millions of people saw wildlife.

Steve was more than a wildlife presenter. He was a voice for creatures who could not speak for themselves. Through his work, he showed the world that animals are not something to fear or exploit. They are living beings who deserve respect, protection, and compassion.

His passion for wildlife was unforgettable. Whether he was rescuing a crocodile, caring for an injured animal, or teaching children about conservation, Steve reminded people that every creature has value and every species plays an important role on this planet.

His message still feels just as important today: we do not own the Earth. We are part of it, and we have a responsibility to share it with the animals who call it home.

Steve Irwin’s legacy continues through the countless people he inspired to protect wildlife and stand up for animals. His energy, kindness, and love for nature continue to live on.

Today, we honor Steve by remembering his message and choosing a future where animals are treated with compassion and respect.
