I photographed Neil Woods on commission for The Sunday Times, documenting the story of a man who spent 14 years undercover infiltrating some of the UK’s most violent narcotics networks. During his career, Neil’s investigations contributed to more than 1,000 combined years of prison sentences for those involved in the drugs trade. But the psychological cost of life undercover was immense. While still a serving officer, Neil struggled with anxiety and the pressures of his work, eventually self-medicating with the very substances he had been tasked with policing. Today, Neil is a leading voice for Law Enforcement Action Partnership UK (LEAP UK), campaigning to replace what he describes as the “failed war on drugs” with a framework based on public health, regulation and harm reduction.

While scouting in Putney, for a shoot, we passed through a gym where rowers were pushing through an intense training session. It’s a full circle for Femi & TJ Koleoso to return to where it all began—Enfield Grammar School—to catch up with their old music teacher, relive memories, and reflect on their early inspirations into music. Fast forward to their band The Ezra Collective which made history as the first jazz group to win the Mercury Prize and now racking up four nominations for the 2025 BRIT Awards! But what sets them apart is their dedication to giving back—regularly visiting schools & youth clubs to inspire the next generation with talks, drum lessons, and their incredible story. Some sitters leave an indelible impression, and -mbe is one of them. The Observer describes her as both formidable and extraordinary, with dauntless optimism. She is all of this and so much more. Beyond her achievements as an artist, she founded ‘The Drug of Art’ programme, using creativity to support young people’s mental health and well-being. Her latest exhibition, ‘Lost in Parys’, recently closed but continues to resonate, featuring prominently in the BBC documentary ‘In My Own Words’. My thanks , for giving me the opportunity to meet such an inspirational woman.

Courteeners are back with a new album, Pink Cactus Café, with a sound that goes beyond what you’d expect. has reviewed the album with four stars and writes, “These aren’t songs by “parka monkeys drinking Dark Fruits in the landfill of indie”; they add up to a colourful sky that stretches way beyond Manchester.”

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing since 2017, and what a privilege to shoot the press and pr images for the new album. Congratulations to and dare I say it, could Pink Cactus follow the 2023 reissue of St.Jude to no.1 in the album charts?
