Some of many shots presented here from several days of shooting The Lost Estate Le Chat Noir cabaret.
It is such a pleasure to work with such talented people. Shooting live performances like this stretch the limits of your technical capabilities, with fast movement, ever changing lighting and an environment where you can’t stand still for for than 10 seconds.
My old eyeballs always get a generous grilling after a show and feel like I’ve had a session in the gym. One show promoted a ruptured eyeball due to staring at flashing lights for 5 hours which was not much fun 😳
Usually in one performance around 3000 images are shot because of the fast pace, and changing light. After the show images are generally required within 24 hours or sooner for press release, and this is where roughly 14 hours of editing is done to curate 80 immaculate images to sum up that show.
It makes it worth it to be amongst talented passionate people and to keep alive the notion of life being more than just the ordinary.
