This is one of the first pictures I took at the beginning of my photography adventures! I bought my first camera after losing my late husband to a brain tumor. It was such a challenging time that in order to cope I knew I had to start doing something that I genuinely thought I would love doing & it turned out to be a great coping mechanism! I didn't know how to operate a camera, set the lighting or a white balance etc ...BUT I knew when I saw a good capture & that turned out to be enough....enough to start what turned out to be a huge part of my life! Somehow I was pointed to a couple of workshops & met a few people that knew a great deal about photography and I've learned a lot more & I'm still learning- don't think that part will ever end! One thing that became apparent to me over the course of time is that you don't always need high end equipment to take decent photos. These days you can even begin with a smartphone - phone cameras are brilliantly convenient, and their improvement over the past decade has been nothing short of astounding, they’ve effectively killed off the cheap pocket point-and-shoot camera already, so if your financial situation is challenging, start there & just focus on the capture! Once you get better, think about switching to a proper camera. In the worst case scenario you will end up with a lot of family pictures that will be fun to go back to over the period of time, best case- you will have tons of fun in life doing it ! When your heart jumps every time your camera locks focus...you've become a photographer!📸
