I won the Astronomy Photographer of the Year Annie Maunder Prize again! 🎉

I’m stoked to have my work ‘Fourth Dimension’ win the category. It’s a macro micro study of an image I took of the incredible Widmanstätten pattern that can form inside some meteorites blended with gravitational lensing data from JWST. ☄️

Many of you know how much effort I put into producing artwork for the competition this year. From importing a specific tree stump from Northern Ireland, to rushing to the opposite side of London to collect prints that I could expose before certain wavelengths of sunlight hit our planet, countless astronomy book purchases for inspiration and countless late nights spent staring at stars on a computer screen.
Winning the Annie Maunder Open Category is recognition for the huge effort, time and madness that goes into producing these artworks. 5800 images were submitted to this year’s competition, including one from an astronaut on the International Space Station. To have my work displayed alongside the best astronomy photographers in (and out of) the world is an honour. 🌍 💫
Thanks to for another great Private View last night. An evening full of great imagery, canapés, meeting new and familiar faces and even signing some signatures for good measure ✍️

Congratulations to all the artists and photographers featured in the exhibition this year!

-Exhibition is on at until August 2026.
-Book is now available at , and other key bookshops.
-I will be doing a limited print run of 10 editions of this piece, so if you’d like one, get in touch.

Refuge

Same location as the previous image, just 1 hour later. The Milkyway could now be seen in all its beauty and with the fog rolling in, the towering mountain peaks were quickly engulfed.

Photography conditions don’t get any better than this. An incredible night 🌌

Thanks to .sr and for keeping me company under the stars

Andromeda 🌌

I’ve been working on this image on and off for over 6 years, using a variety of cameras, imaging techniques, trial and error and countless nights outside.
This huge galaxy has over 1 trillion stars, vibrant pink nebulae dotted throughout its giant dust arms and a black hole at the centre.
I still find it incredible to be able to photograph something like this from a garden in East Sussex, relieved it’s finally finished and very happy with the end result 💫

The Aurora looks is going to be out tonight! Go outside and look north at around midnight, even if you’re in England, looks like an incredibly strong solar storm coming in! 🤞🌌
