Monday morning… what adventures await?

I have a busy week ahead with processing this weekends photo shoots along with the rather hefty backlog from the end of the summer. There are albums to order, deliveries to arrange, all the fun of the fair.

I took a few hours out on Saturday afternoon to take my mum to the Portrait of a City: A Century of American Photography at the Dulwich Picture Gallery which was an inspiring couple of hours. Photographs by artists such as Alfred Stieglitz, Helen Levitt, Weegee and Lewis Home adorned the walls and the Bruce Davidson room at the end, filled with his images from the New York Metro in the 1980s was incredible. It’s on for a couple more weeks and is definitely worth a visit if you are in London, it’s inspirational stuff.

And now coffee, and the to-do list for me, what does your week hold?

If you’re getting ready for a family photoshoot, there are a few simple things worth bringing.

Wipes - always bring wipes, the stories I could tell 😳🤯🤣

Drinks and snacks to keep energy levels up, and a favourite toy or book to keep everyone entertained.

You might want to bring a change out outfit to give your images a different feel half way through, and bring a sense of humour as it’s in the moments of chaos we often find the most joy.

Bring all the things you love to do as a family, because if you are having fun your pictures will be full of joy. Let’s plan the perfect day together.

Mine will be filled with a morning photoshoot with a family I have been working with for ten years and then b**r and pizza with friends later, that seems a pretty excellent plan for a day to me 😀

The end of the summer comes around too quickly and there hasn’t been as much time in the sea as I would have liked - it’s been quite city based for the summer photo shoots this year. I wont complain though, it’s been wonderful to be busy and I’ve seen so many amazing families with regular clients booking for updated pictures and lots of lovely new clients too.

I can hardly believe that it’s only one more week before children go back to school which is a very full week of photo shoots, and then it’s full speed ahead for Autumn which is always the busiest time of the year.

If you are thinking of booking a session this autumn then please get in touch sooner rather than later as there are a few weekend dates in September available but October is almost fully booked and with Christmas deadlines looming in November there is not that many opportunities if you want a weekend session and, when they are gone, they are gone.

I’m very pleased to have received an award in the most recently round of

With just under 4000 images submitted only 29 were chosen and it’s great to be among such talented photographers.

Here in the office today it feels like the summer is drawing to a close (which feels ridiculous to say considering the heat) but it’s only a few weeks before schools start again and the busy autumn season is here. The next few weeks are going to be both frantic and wonderful with family photo shoots all over the country and I can’t wait to see clients old and new as we make memories together.

September is always the busiest month of the year with lots of the summer orders coming in as well as photo shoots every weekend and some midweek too. I need to build some sleep reserves that’s for sure.

If you are thinking about a September shoot there are a couple of weekend dates still available and then only two weekend dates still free in October so drop me a line sooner rather than later and we can get your family photo shoot booked in.
