Neil Kenlock As a photographer Neil Kenlock is known for his community, fashion and celebrity images.

Neil Kenlock is an international photographer who specialised in fashion, beauty, celebrities and cultural lifestyles of black people in the 60s and 70s. Today his work is in the Black Cultural Archives, the Tate, The National Portrait Gallery, the Smithsonian Museum and other institutions. He currently spends most of his time managing his archive, doing media projects and speaking at events.

Beyond Expectations: The Legacy of Black Leadership and Community in Camden

Launching this October as part of Season.

This exhibition showcases photographs by Neil Kenlock, capturing key figures in Black British history whose work shaped Camden and wider society.

Featured here: Lord David Pitt of Hampstead — doctor, activist, and one of the UK’s first Black peers. As a Camden councillor, he championed racial equality in housing, health, and education, leaving a powerful civic legacy.
