“I don’t trust words. I trust pictures.” — Gilles Peress

Long after all is said and done, the image remains the undisputed record of truth.
Years down the line, memory naturally softens the details.

Words fade, conversations blur, and the exact sequence of events quietens with time, but a photograph holds the raw, unedited reality of the day. It preserves the unscripted glances, the unspoken tension, and the unfiltered emotion exactly as it unfolded.

While words attempt to recount how a moment felt, a photograph proves it.

When Kerrthana and Nish mentioned they wanted an urban, chilled-out vibe for their pre-wedding shoot, Shoreditch was the immediate choice.

I’ve wanted to incorporate the neighborhood’s massive street art murals into a session for a long time, and they were the perfect couple to collaborate with on it.

“There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are.” — Ernst Haas

Just a little reminder for all my fellow creatives that the sky is the limit. It’s so easy to get caught up in wanting better gear or waiting for the “perfect” moment, but honestly? Your vision is the only thing that actually matters. Trust your eye, stop overthinking, and just go create.

When we talk about traditional Indian weddings, the phrase family bonds isn’t just a sentiment—it is the very foundation of the entire celebration.

Whether it is a North Indian or a South Indian ceremony, look closely at how the day begins. Before the couple even exchanges garlands or takes their vows, the first part of the ritual almost always involves the parents.

From the vibrant Milni in the North, where families embrace and welcome one another, to the deeply respectful Vratham or welcoming rituals in South Indian traditions, the message is clear: family is involved at every single step.

These opening rituals do more than just follow tradition; they set the emotional tone for the entire day. They honour the roots that raised the couple and officially welcome a new network of support, love, and community.

My goal is always to balance those essential formal family portraits with these raw, unfolding moments of connection, ensuring your gallery feels alive with the genuine energy of both your families coming together.

“Sheraz created a fun, relaxed environment that allowed us to fully enjoy our wedding day.” — Raj & Suji

Your wedding day is a celebration, not a full Bollywood production. While the grand scale and beautiful chaos of a wedding are incredible, you shouldn’t feel like you’re on a frantic movie set performing for the camera all day.

My approach to wedding photography is built around giving you the space to actually live in the moment. I strive to strike the perfect balance: capturing those essential formal, staged, and posed photographs efficiently, and then stepping back to let the day unfold naturally.

Your main priority should be enjoying your wedding as you should, surrounded by the people you love. When you are relaxed and having fun, the photographs reflect genuine joy—not forced poses. Let’s keep the environment light, stress-free, and focused on your story.

Plan A: An outdoor ceremony in May.

The Reality: A full-on summer heatwave!

Krisan and Shivani’s wedding at Oakley Hall was the absolute perfect reflection of them - beautiful, vibrant, and completely chilled out. Honestly, two of the easiest going, loveliest people to be around, and it was an absolute honour to capture these moments for them.

Following up on the Sri Lanka trip, here is a look behind the scenes at Joe and Thariska’s pre-wedding session in Galle.

If you haven’t been, Galle is a gorgeous, historic coastal town known for its massive Dutch fort and vibrant streets.

The couple originally booked the Galle Heritage Hotel just to get changed. It’s a beautiful, super chic boutique spot with amazing colonial style, but once we saw how stunning it was inside and how nice the air conditioning was, we immediately decided to use it as our first shooting location.

Joe and Thariska were incredibly chilled out and caught the vibe perfectly right from the start. We teamed up with the Lights and Magic video crew, a fantastic local team who helped us navigate the area as we explored the streets and just had fun with it.

To wrap it all up, the couple wanted some beach shots at sunset, so of course we made that happen, even shooting a little bit into the night to finish the session on a high note.

Stay tuned for more adventures with Joe and Tharisika.

Packing for a destination wedding always requires a balance of versatility and weight.

Tomorrow, I’m heading to Sri Lanka to capture an incredible couple, and this is the exact kit making the trip with me.

Two trusted Nikon bodies, four essential pieces of glass to cover every angle, and a compact but powerful lighting setup packed into my Think Tank and messenger bag.

I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes looks at the stunning locations and the journey over on my Stories throughout the trip. Follow along to see how it all comes together.
