My first publication…a dream come true. Let’s reforest our minds and follow Brazilian Indigenous peoples to learn and understand their 522 years of struggle. We can do much more than we think to understand the threats against them and support the narratives they bring to non indigenous audiences.

"The bills of death".

Those are the words written on a poster Krig Si Kaingang, from the Kaingang people in the state of Paraná, carried as she protested against a series of environmental bills in Brazil, which have been condemned by activists as a "historic assault" on the planet.

More than 200 different Indigenous ethnic groups gathered in the country’s capital of Brasília between 4-14 April to demonstrate against what they say is the "anti-Indigenous" and "anti-environment" agenda of Brazil's president, Jair Bolsonaro.

Activists fear these bills, which include green-lighting mining and other commercial activities on Indigenous lands, will exacerbate the already increasing destruction of the Amazon rainforest and hinder many Indigenous peoples from claiming their right to traditional lands.

The protests were part of the annual Free Land Camp, also known as Acampamento Terra Livre (ATL), which unites Brazil’s Indigenous groups in the ongoing fight to save their culture, territories and biodiversity.

Since Bolsonaro took office in 2019, vast stretches of the rainforest have been destroyed and traditional communities threatened.

At least 18 people were murdered in land conflicts in 2020.

The White Desert or Sahara el Beyda (arabic name) is not a famous destination in Egypt although it’s chalk rock formations distributed all around the 300 sq km park form a surreal landscape you might not see anywhere else (on this world, at least). 40km north of the city of Farafra, the Desert can be reached by 4x4 as part of the way is all about sand and blinding-white rocks which seem to sprout from the sand. The structures are given different shapes due to the sandstorms and desert winds, what makes the trip even more interesting when getting lost in between those. The peace that comes with the silence brings out our inner desires and thoughts, enhancing the purest positive emotions we carry deep inside ourselves which are obstructed by the daily life on topsy-turvy towns.🌵 ⠀

Wish I could describe how is it like to be in a place as the Black & White Desert...I couldn’t believe my eyes when I first saw it.
Two days and one night out of the chaos, being surrounded by black & white rocks and stones, an astounding moon, a remarkable sky and this sun. Egypt has been remarkably as one day I dreamed it would be💛🏜 ⠀

Just a normal day at Khan El-Khalili, the most traditional local market in Cairo. ⠀
The way they produce, transport and sell the 3esh (haesh = local fresh bread) in Egypt is so unique...maybe that’s the secret for it’s tasty flavour 💛

Cairo Tower is for sure one of the best spots in town. It’s height brings out the splendours of this chaotic city. ⠀

Arriving in Cairo and facing it’s traffic and beeps can be a shocking welcoming for those who are first visiting the city. After a walk around you realise that’s all about how lively Cairo is...with shops closing at 1am, streets crowded till 3 am cause markets are still open, delicious food spots everywhere, prays been singed 5 times a day in the countless mosques, the micro buses been madly driven through the streets (crossing those can be an adventure), plus the pyramids, which are in Giza (a city nearby Cairo) but you can still spot it from that amazing belvedere. ⠀

Visiting Cairo is certainly an unique experience that must be lived at least once in a lifetime.

Although I’m not that keen on how Egypt’s tourism is sometimes resumed on visiting the Pyramids (as the country has amazing spots all over its territory), I can’t deny the energy on this place is indescribable. Admiring the magnitude of a monument built ages ago and wonder how they made it in such a perfect way can make you feel mesmerised about the human abilities. Besides all that magic, I’d say the Camels are an attraction for itself however the way they’re treated needs to go thru an urgent change. 🐪 🏜

When I first saw the colour of the water in Gouna I was so overjoyed that tears ran down my face. It truly left me speechless... ⠀
Gouna is a must go destiny in Egypt, being known as one of the best kitesurfing spots on the world plus a perfect place for snorkelling. The nightlife is thriving and the food appetizing. ⠀

Come & jump in with me 🏊🏼‍♀️🏖💛

I just get myself thinking “if these walls could speak...”💛😮⠀

Long time without posting as the arrival in Egypt was a bit confusing but really excited to share with you a bit of this magical, enchanting and mysterious country. Egypt is well known for the pyramids but you can’t imagine all the treasures spread around it’s territory starting with this one, the Karnak Temple at Luxor, a city in the southern part of Egypt. Shukran, Egypt. Thanks, Egypt.
