So I’ve decided after a while in which I needed a break from social media to pop back celebrating Penge. And guess what we found an amazing piece of art from .92 of .jama on the walls nearby.

Christopher
I saw Christopher on the opposite side of the road and I guess did a photo stalk. I have turned back hundreds of times as I’ve walked past someone but running across the road is a little different. When I stood a few steps away I started my usual opening line and as he shook my hand it engulfed mine as I looked up to him. I’m six foot tall so no shorty but the gentle giant was a good description.
I complimented the awesome amber ring as it matched the outfit and he laughed as said it’s because he is a witch. And to that he wasn’t joking but he hates the label of witch so I said why use it and he said call me a pagan.
He was as I said a gentle giant and he was a full time carer for his dad so said sadly that he is in tween jobs right now. I’m not such a believer in religions or the (excuse me Chris) witch craft, but I am@a believer good things do go to good people and Christopher I hope will have it in bundles.

Kieran
I met Kieran on screen. No I didn’t swipe right but I guess we’re now found in cosy areas having an alcoholic beverage so in many ways I did. During COVID we had the joy of online NCT classes. It made me feel better as I wasn’t the only clueless one. Straight away got on with Kieran as he can happily have people take the p**s out of him and also has the insults to match. Sadly for Kieran his blood is of Welsh decent and this was him drowning sorrows of what is (at least in recent history) a relatively comfortable win for England in the six nations. The only thing I do know is their dip in form is unlikely to last long so awaiting the abuse when they next beat England. In the mean time we will just continue to grace this romantic table for two at with awesome beer

Tim
So we went to watch the rugby and it was nota. Great showcase for English and Welsh rugby but I did get to see Tim from T A wright and orchestra fantasma who were setting up The Gold Smiths Arms in Penge for their gig. I saw Tim looking pretty pensive mid band set up and had to go ask for a portrait. He kindly places his hand back on his chin and whilst we couldn’t stay for the gig you can listen to the awesome music on Spotify

Clive and Sarah
Quite simply the colours of these two walking to work made me smile and even more so the grins that followed. Every Friday Clive and Sarah wall to work to digest the week and by the sound of it have a good old chin wag. The bike and top, glasses and hats all matched and Clive’s infamous bag also got a feature. A joyful interaction in space makers as they work in the world of architecture and no better joy than people connecting in space

Eideen
The contrast between the awesome outfit and red lipstick with a box of chicken nuggets caught my eye.
Eideen works in editing and was lining her stomach ready for an awards ceremony which sounded very much like an industry excuse to party. She had a train to catch so had to go but asked if her lipstick was okay and said yes but in a few hours time and drinks who knows

Mick
For those not from Penge meet Mick who is a local hero. This is the third portrait I have taken of mick in the five years and he always say hello to me and Jacob. He is seen night and day cleaning his own high street for the local council (well Veolia) and genuinely you will see him early morning or in dark of night proudly keeping Penge clean and tidy. They were going to switch his patch a long while ago which he wasn’t happy about and it made me write to the council to keep him and I am sure many more locals to. We may have kept his commute to work a little shorter but Mick keeps Penge somewhere I am super proud to live.

Lianna
I can’t believe I am nearly two weeks behind in sharing images but shows how different life is since having Jacob but I the best way possible. Two weeks back I had a site visit in Ashford in Kent and just as we were packing up I saw walk on by. My radar for people creative is on form this year and this is no different with Lianna currently studying Fashion photography at Canterbury. She found it funny I asked for her portrait and asked why concerned if she looked okay. I though I would share the two photos as shows how different the slightest change in angle distance and most importantly the touch of a smile can completely change an image

Adam

Someone the other day mentioned the new Jerk Shack in Maple road and despite not yet eating there I bumped into one of the chefs Adam.

Years ago got asked for his portrait in his chef uniform and the picture was selected for a project trying to reduce knife crime and then later used in a magazine to raise money to help kids in Africa. He was super proud of it,
After all that and his pride I explained why I take portraits and the concept of “you are never just” he laughed and said “I’m just a chef”.
