This photograph for me is the Scottish Highlands. I loved it so much. Huge swathes of bleak but beautiful landscapes, seemingly devoid of life until you look closer. Just the odd sign of man's interference here and there which just helps to give some scale to the sheer size of the place.

If you've been you'll know what I mean, and if you haven't then you need it on your bucket list.

I managed to grab this shot while working in London earlier this week. I wanted to blend the old with the new so what better place than the Houses of parliament.

So last night with my aurora app in hand I headed out to grab that award winning shot. Unfortunately the weather had other ideas so I remain thwarted.

However...I had a sneaky backup plan. It was supposed to be a misty, very calm morning and I knew a spot just around the corner from my ill fated aurora trip. So I headed off, and after a few hours sleep in the campervan I hiked over to my chosen spot. And what a morning it was. Absolutely no wind, a light most and some beautiful pre dawn light. I hope you enjoy.

Sunset at Castle Stalker in Scotland. I'm really happy with how this shot came out. Took a bit of planning to match the high tide with sunset and to and to get the sun setting behind the castle. All that was left was to get the right weather, and I got lucky with that one.
