For those of you who know me, you’ll know I have a weak spot for quality photography and cinema 🎞️📷
As a little New Year treat, we’ve partnered with to break us into 2026 in proper cultural style 🖤 starting from tomorrow! (28th)
For our first 50 customers across our Hackney sites:
☕ free coffee and 2 weeks of incredible cinema via the MUBI GO app
We caught up with our founder Brendan to pick 3 MUBI highlights worth your time. New year, new visual vibes! 👇
La Cocina 🍽️
Shot in high-contrast black and white, this film turns the kitchen into an abstract pressure cooker. Steam, steel, sweat, movement. It feels closer to documentary photography than glossy cinema. Loud, physical, alive. For anybody who knows Ed Van Elskin style photography, will love this.
Perfect Days
Quiet, observational, deeply photographic. Tokyo as a lived-in space rather than a spectacle. Eye-level framing, gentle light, small moments allowed to breathe. This is a photographer’s film.
Die My Love (on MUBI Jan 2026)
Loved this film!! Raw, fragmented and emotionally volatile. The camera behaves like a nervous system rather than a window. Handheld, unstable, intimate. Beautiful photography that gets under your skin.
Happy New Year 🥂 Here’s to a slower, more considered, more beautiful 2026 ✨
