Ocean Warrior, Iakobwa Kirario sorting through plastic baskets and ghost nets. The crew would manually pull out plastic debris from the North Pacific Gyre by hand, sometimes weighing 50-100kg’s+ and would take 2-3 crew members to safely pull the plastic onto deck. Depending on the size, the larger mysterious plastic objects and ghost nets weighing tons would be removed by operating the Kwai crane.

Have you heard of the term River Warrior?
In this selection of photos there’re River Warriors, these hard working heroes proudly taking action and reducing the amount of plastic that pollutes the rivers and beautiful nature in Bali.

A Heroic community inside of Indonesia are working hard to tackle the plastic pollution situation in Bali and Indonesia. are huge contributors to the plastic clean up movement.

I’m proud and grateful to have been involved in a collaboration project with .co & earlier this year.

It’s obvious lots of trash and plastic’s dumped in rivers, illegal land fills and remote areas surrounded by nature here in Bali.

Through education, awareness and implementing better recycling waste management systems, Indonesia can surely clean up. It’s a big concern how much plastic is being pushed into the ocean from the rivers that flow through Bali and other parts of Indonesia.

Sea Turtles 🐢
One of my favorite marine animals I love to observe.
🎥🌊
While foraging for food some species can hold their breath for up to 40 minutes.
They play an important role in ocean ecosystems by maintaining healthy coral reefs and seagrass beds. They facilitate habitats for other marine life, supporting balanced marine food webs and providing nutrient cycling from water to land 🐠
Sea Turtles love a good jelly fish snack. Sadly they can mistaken plastic bags for their favorite food, which can cause them serious problems such as intestinal blockages leaving turtles unable to feed, resulting in starvation.
If they luckily survive, consuming plastic can make turtles unnaturally buoyant, which can stunt their growth and lead to slow reproduction rates.
