And we’re back!

After a slow and relaxing summer, the kids are back at school and I’ve got my head back into work. Not that I’ve had the last seven weeks off, as you can see from this first post from my shoot with . We caught some beautiful summer light in Norwich on the day of her headshots. It was lovely walking around the city and hearing about her practice. If you’re looking for an architect, definitely check her out as her work is beautiful.

I’ve got a few more bits to share from over the summer but I’m also looking forward to the shoots I’ve got coming up this autumn. I won’t mention the C word but I’ve got families already booking in and a product shoot in a few weeks time…

Zack Polanski, photographed for The Green Party last year. One of the good ones.

I hate to segue into work with everything we are seeing right now, but life is full of dualities and I need to earn a living. I’ve got spaces on the 4/5/6/11 August. Again, for any shoots booked on these dates I’ll give 50% of the shoot fee to MAP. Shout if you’re interested and definitely keep shouting about what you are seeing.

Email your MP, even if they are already speaking out, sign every petition going, check out the .movement, share posts, donate if you can and talk to and encourage friends and family to do the above too. It all helps.

A very quick, single image (sorry algorithm) post to say I’ve had a last minute postponement tomorrow.
I’ll be in Shoreditch shooting at 11am but I’ve got space starting at 1pm (or thereabouts) for a headshot session. If you can make it and need new headshots (who doesn’t?!) then it’s 25% off… DM me - go, go, go!

I really enjoyed meeting Jack Lowe, Artistic Director of curious directive, a Norwich-based theatre company. curious directive explores life and creates theatre shows through the lens of science. Their theatre shows have been seen in over 120 venues across the world, playing to over 200,000+ live audience members.

As well as this they run a monthly science club, a creative co-working space and more! Please go and check them out as it’s such a special organisation.

Image description: Photos of Jack Lowe, a white make with brown hair and a beard, wearing glasses. Photo 1 - Jack is wearing a blue and green check shirt and very pale jeans. He is leaning up against the gate post outside the church that they are based in at the bottom of Elm Hill in Norwich. In the background you can see the garden and the edge of the church building and on the right hand side you can see the bright pink sign that says curious directive. It is a sunny day and Jack is smiling with his arms folded. Photo 2 - Jack in the same position smiling at the camera. In this photo, his mouth is open slightly more as if he is laughing. This photo is cropped in a bit closer on Jack. Photo 3 - a black-and-white portrait photo of Jack inside a greenhouse. Again Jack is smiling at the camera and has his eyes folded. Photo 4 - a landscape photo of Jack inside the greenhouse. This time he is looking off to the left of the frame. You can see branches from some of the bushes outside through the glass that create nice patterns on the windows. Part of the door frame is out of focus in the full ground as I am looking through the doorway into the greenhouse. Photo 5 - a colour photograph of Jack wearing a navy shirt/jacket buttoned up he has his hands in his pockets and he has stood in front of one of the church windows that is reflecting the sky. He is looking at the camera and smiling. Photo 6 - a black-and-white photo of Jack in the same position but shot landscape so you can see more of the church around him.

This is a photo of me when I was pregnant with my first and I’m posting it as we need your help.

We are looking for some pregnant models for a shoot on 23 June in Central London for . Clark & Gray make the most beautiful British made coats that see you through pregnancy and beyond.

please give this a share and if you’re interested in taking part, please contact Thea .

And because it helps the algorithm, I’ve included a few photos of myself whilst pregnant. For my first pregnancy, I did the usual thing of taking a photo each month as my belly grew. There are also plenty of photos of me attending festivals and having fun because apparently I did a lot more of that before I had children!

There are literally two photos of me pregnant with my second baby. That’s it. One of those is the photo pf@me in a striped top sat at a table at a gig at Brixton Academy. I’ve no recollection of who I saw.

The last three photos are of me pregnant with my third child. I was determined to get a few more shots than the last time, but I never really had any proper photos taken. The last photo of me looking like an absolute whale is still weeks away from him being born. He was 10lb 4oz and I remind him of this on the regular.

Another fabulous last week! I’ve tagged as many people as I can, but if I’ve missed you, let me know!Image description:...

I absolutely loved photographing Kerrie-Anne delivering one of her workshops to this legal firm. In all honesty, I actually just wanted to join in. It made me realise how small movements throughout the day really add up and are incredibly beneficial. I walk a lot and do yoga in the mornings but then I can sit for hours.

Kerrie-Anne makes the sessions fun, helps individuals with specific issues and the feedback from everyone there was glowing. These guys also regularly do her online sessions and they say it’s made a huge difference to their posture and well-being at work.

It’s made me determined to break up my days editing with more movement. Please inspire me and tell me what you do to bring more movement into your day!

Oh and swipe through to the end to see the CUTEST workshop attendee ever.

Image description: a carousel of 18 colour photographs of Kerrie-Anne delivering seated Pilates exercises to a legal firm. Kerrie-Anne is white with shoulder length brown hair. She’s wearing a fitted navy top and dark trousers. The attendees vary in age and ethnicity. In most of the photos they are smiling and laughing as they stretch and take part in the exercises. In a few of the photos they are practising breath work and look very chilled and calm. In the last photo is a small, fluffy back dog called Titan who is incredibly cute.

I can’t believe it’s been five years since lockdown started. We were so lucky - we had indoor and outdoor space. The kids weren’t really at an age where I had to worry about home school, if they did some work then great but mostly they didn’t and that was fine. I was lucky to get a bit of product photography work which tied me over (thank you ) and we had neighbours to bring supplies and walk the dog.

However I do remember the anxiety and the intensity of it all. We had to isolate a week before lockdown started as our youngest had a fever. By the time Matt went back to work at the hospital we were well into the third week of lockdown and the world outside had completely changed.

I’m not sure what I’m trying to say with this post. It feels like a lifetime ago and like it was yesterday all at once.

Another wonderful this week, with and a room full of brilliant women (and some cute babies).

If you’re in these photos and want me to tag you just send me a DM.

Image description: a carousel of 18 images, in colour and black-and-white. The photos are taken in the library of Shoreditch house, which has wooden panelling on the lower half of the walls with the upper half painted cream. On the stage is Cat Sims, a white woman with long blonde hair wearing black leather shorts, black tights, and a checked blazer. She has joined by the founder of Mothers Meeting’s Jenny Scott, who is a white woman with blonde hair wearing jeans, knee-high leather boots and a black T-shirt with a red Ford Cortina on it! In the room are women of different backgrounds and races, some with babies. They are depicted listening, joining in the conversation, chatting to each other and laughing. The final photo is of Jenny and Cat hugging each other.

I couple of quick snaps of Anna at the end of our recent shoot. They’re not perfect but the moment was perfect 🤍

And that’s the most important thing - capture the moments. Whether that’s taking a selfie, setting your camera timer up, asking a friend to grab some photos of you - or booking a photographer!

For the first time in years I’ve been persuaded to offer mini sessions for families again. They will take place on Saturday 8th and Saturday 15th March and I’ve got a couple of people booked in already, but plenty of spaces left so I can capture some special moments with your family.

They are being held in central London (exact location TBC but close to Euston), and cost £125, which will include your two favourite images supplied as digital files for you to print to your hearts content.

Photos will be turned around in one week so perfect for getting prints in time for Mother’s Day for the mums, grandmothers and other significant mother figures in your life.

Just DM to book!

Anna is holding baby Lola on her chest and in the first photo is looking down at her and in the second photo is smiling at the camera. She looks calm and content. Anna is a white woman with long blonde hair and she is wearing a black-and-white check top. Lola is wearing a white babygrow with tiny flowers on it.

This gorgeous boy was my first family shoot of the year back on a bitterly cold day in January for (not related!) and her beautiful family who were visiting from NZ.

The cold didn’t stop us though - we played in Coram’s Fields (one of my favourite free places to take little ones in London) and we also captured some cuddles with his mum.

I’m now taking bookings for family shoots in the spring and mini shoots will be back and happening soon!

Image description: a series of black-and-white photos of a toddler boy with white skin and blonde curly hair, wearing a padded gilet. He is climbing on wooden play equipment and hearing out from behind the wooden bars. In the final photo his mum has picked him up and she is staring at him smiling while he smiles at the camera.
