Nigel Mould spent his childhood in the county of Lincolnshire on England's east coast. He moved to London's East End in the 1980's but returns frequently to the rural landscape of forests, hills and beaches in North Yorkshire that he loves. Nigel studied graphic design, art, technical illustration and historical geography. His 1984 BA (Hons) specialist dissertation on medieval deserted villages wa

s commended by the Royal Geographical Society and forged his love of the ghostly images locked within the rolling hills, fields and woods. Over the years he has diversified along a number of career paths. His time as a police officer in north and east London fostered his passion for the city, as walked the streets, absorbing the incredible diversity of its people, history and vibrant architecture. Film camera work and editing gradually drew Nigel back to his love of photography. In 1991 his print was the winning entry in the landscape section of the annual photographic competition held by the BBC Countryfile programme. Each photograph captures a unique and often spontaneous moment in time. Some taking on a dark brooding air, others simply capturing stark emotions, memories and visions.
