Gin Fizz Photographic Gin Fizz Photographic specialises in fine art wedding and portrait photography. I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t inspired to make beautiful images of life.

Gin Fizz is run by Helen Rimell who has both an MA and undergraduate degree in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism. Helen has won a number of awards for her work, including the Hugo-Young Guardian Newspaper Internship. I called my company Gin Fizz Photographic as I wanted something that reminded me of my Grandparents, who were married in 1937 and were so important to me, their love for one

another was so strong and inspiring. I also wanted a name that had a feeling of celebration, happiness, sunshine, and great times. I am so passionate about photography, the wonderful art you can create with light, the fact that you can freeze a little piece of time in a photograph, preserve a moment or a memory forever. And I am in love with love. Every wedding I do is an absolute pleasure to shoot; getting up for work of a morning always puts a smile on my face. When I am not shooting wonderful nuptials and lovely couples I work as a documentary photographer and photojournalist, covering stories in India, Afghanistan, Kashmir and New Zealand, as well as the UK. I have exhibited work in a number of photo festivals and galleries around the world, and have been published in The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, The Times of India, and Vice Magazine. I bring my experience in photojournalism into all my wedding and portrait work; I capture every detail, the laughter, the tears, and the beautiful, sometimes fleeting looks between you both. I draw on my experience with, and love of people to ensure that your personality, individuality and style are visible throughout my photographs. I want each one of my images to exude all the emotions and feelings of the day. I prefer to use natural and available light to create beautiful, atmospheric, artistic work. When I am not working or travelling, which is another great love of mine, then you will most likely find me dancing, often in stunning Art Deco ballrooms around London, as I am an avid Lindy Hopper. I love swing dancing as much for the music as the dancing, I am a big jazz fan; the clothes are also rather fabulous. I am also very fond of the ocean, the sunshine, walks in the park, love, laughter, art, food, friends, family, wonderful old black and white films, and of course a Gin Fizz. I am happy, creative, adventurous, and very easy to get along with, I love to work with couples looking for something artistic, timeless, and real from their wedding photography. Elysha Tarant and Jonathan Fenner had been married for a day when we set our alarms for 4am and headed to the beach in Ragusa.

After photographing their wedding in Sicily, it felt only right to celebrate the start of their honeymoon with one final shoot together. We wanted something that felt romantic, intimate, and a little bit playful; the kind of photographs that could only be created when the pressure of the wedding day has disappeared and all that's left is the excitement of being newly weds.

As the sun began to rise, we had the beach entirely to ourselves. Bare feet in the sand, endless laughter, and that incredible Sicilian morning light slowly spilling across the shoreline. One of the things I love most about post-wedding shoots is the freedom they create. No timeline to follow, no guests waiting, no need to rush. Just space to enjoy each other and soak up those first few days of married life.

The result was everything we'd hoped for; romantic, sensual, relaxed, and full of joy. Light that was more than worth the 5am start.

A year later, and these images still make me smile.

Perhaps it's the light, perhaps it's the wild beauty of the Polish countryside or perhaps it's simply Kaylah, whose joy seems to spill out of every frame.

Looking back through these images reminds me why I love what I do so much. It's never just about the location or the details, beautiful as they may be. It's about people. Their stories, their laughter, the way they love one another, and the privilege of preserving a small piece of that forever.

This wedding brought together family and friends from all over the world for a weekend filled with love, celebration, and connection. By the end of it, strangers had become friends, memories had been made, and I left feeling incredibly grateful to have been part of it all.

Some stories take the scenic route.

Lisa and Lincoln both grew up in Fulham. They visited the same parks, watched the same fireworks displays, and very nearly attended the same primary school. Their paths crossed countless times before they ever met, but somehow it took until they were fifteen years old and shelving books in Fulham Library for the universe to properly introduce them.

What started with a falling bookshelf (quite literally) became a friendship that lasted years. There were Christmases spent stealing leftover roast potatoes, adventures planned and abandoned, periods of life that pulled them in different directions, and eventually, after years of being slightly more than friends, a text message that changed everything.

"Is this still Lisa's phone? It's Lincoln."

And just like that, they found their way back to each other.

Their wedding day felt exactly like them. Thoughtful, personal, full of meaning, and completely unconcerned with doing things simply because tradition said so. Charity-shop boots, treasured family jewellery, a hat that travelled all the way from Canada, potted plants for guests to take home, and rings carrying decades of memories.

Every detail had a story behind it. More than anything though, it was a celebration of a love that had quietly endured for years. One built on friendship, forgiveness, laughter, and always finding a way back to each other.

Gemma and Simon met at a surf competition, on a beach, in France. So it felt only natural that their wedding day would begin the same way; by the sea, with the day still quiet, and the light just starting to shift.

Before anything else, it was just the three of us on the beach in Uvita. No crowds, soft morning light and the familiar rhythm of the ocean. The kind of start that felt completely true to them.

Simon and his brother did what they love most and headed out for a morning surf before the day began properly. Boards under their arms, salt in the air, and a few quiet moments together before everything that was to come. It felt like the perfect way to start a wedding so deeply connected to the sea.

Their story has always been shaped by movement and place. They spend months each year travelling; drawn to warmer climates, hiking, surfing, and living a little differently. They got engaged in Patagonia, found their rings in Chile, and chose to get married here, on their favourite beach in Uvita, Costa Rica.

The rest of the day followed at that same ease; a small group of their closest people, a picnic on the sand, and vows at sunset.

Gemma, who works in film, had a clear vision for something beautifully lit and considered, but still raw and honest. Simon, who would usually stay far away from the camera, settled into it in a way that felt completely natural.

Nothing forced, nothing performative, just space to be themselves.

Michelle and Dylan at Monknash; a stretch of coastline on the South Wales coast, the place where Dylan proposed, and somewhere that felt entirely fitting for these photographs.

We spent the evening wandering between the cliffs and woodland, making the most of the sea air, soft light, and a landscape that does very little to hide its romance. Sometimes the most meaningful location is simply the place that feels like home to your story.

Ten years ago, I met Simona De Leo in a swing dance hall in London.

While the rest of us were busy dancing, she was often tucked away in a corner somewhere, sketchbook in hand, illustrating the musicians, the dancers, and the wonderfully chaotic world around her. She was (and still is) one of the most talented and creative people I know. We've been friends ever since.

Back then, Simona used to joke that if she didn't meet someone soon, she was giving up on British men and moving somewhere with hotter weather and hotter men. The UK, she insisted, was failing her on both fronts, then she met Marco.

A talented artist and a talented chef, they make a pretty wonderful pair.

They chose to get married in Puglia at MASSERIA TRITICUM, close to Simona's hometown, surrounded by sunshine, olive groves, incredible food, and all the people they love most. It was one of those weddings where joy seemed to spill out of every corner; a swing band, a folk band, dancing between every course, lashings of prosecco and wine, and quite possibly some of the best food I've ever eaten.

The details were unmistakably Simona too, full of warm oranges, yellows, and all the sunny colours she loves.

I was there as a guest as she wanted me to experience a true Puglian wedding without working, but there was no way I could leave my camera at home, not with that delectable southern Italian light dancing through the venue making art out of everything it touched.

Watching two friends celebrate with so much love, music, incredible food, and fantastic people was an absolute privilege. And being able to make a few photographs of everyone I love having the time of their lives made it even more special.

Sofia Knowles and Ben chose to get married on Brighton Bandstand, a place that holds a lot of meaning for them. Sofia is half Italian, half English, and there was something wonderfully fitting about celebrating one chapter of their story here on the Sussex coast before heading to Italy for the next.

The weather had other ideas. The wind arrived in full force, turning veils into sails, sending hair in every direction, and making it almost impossible to predict what would happen next. But instead of fighting it, they laughed, leaned into it and somewhere in the middle of the chaos, the photographs became something even better.

There was a wildness to the day. A kind of romance that felt straight from the pages of Wuthering Heights; windswept, dramatic, and beautifully unpolished.
Proof, perhaps, that the most memorable photographs rarely come from perfect conditions. They come from embracing whatever the day decides to bring.
