How do people find their way back to art?
Is it through study?
Through conversation?
Through spaces where creativity and reflection are allowed to meet?
The final evening of the Shawwāl programme at Kismet brought artists and audience together for a conversation about creativity, tradition, and meaning.
Artist Sajil opened the night with a beautiful presentation on miniature painting; exploring the history of sacred art and the symbolism behind it. A reminder that art has long been a way of reflecting on the world, faith, and the stories we inherit.
Then the artists sat together and opened the floor. A conversation with the audience about process, inspiration, and the many ways people approach their craft.
Different journeys. Different styles. Different reasons for creating.
Featuring artists from Being Golden Spiral alongside guests and friends of the space.
Thank you to everyone who helped bring the evening together.

So here’s the question that stayed with me after the night ended:
What is art to you?
