BIG Stuff Promotions

BIG Stuff Promotions Live Music The Grosvenor was a friendly atmospheric pub with a separate music room which was shared by different promoters. Cheers, Bigsey.

- Previously 'Bigstuff Promotions' which was born at the beginning of 2009 by Bigsey who quickly formed a partnership and promoted many Punk gigs in Surrey under a different banner right the way through to the end of the summer in 2010. At the beginning of 2011 the Bigstuff banner was flying from a new venue, The Grosvenor in Stockwell, London which has now sadly closed its d

oors on live music. Bigstuff Prom started off with monthly Saturday night and Thursday night slots. At the beginning of 2014 I decided to take a step back from promoting for many reasons . I appreciate all of the work 'Dooie' put in at the beginning and I appreciate all of the help I have received from Lesley and Mark since operating in London, I don't know what I would have done without them. Towards the end further help came from Sarah Pink and Vince. Thanks to John and all the staff from 'The Grosvenor' back in the day when it was a proper pub, another music venue has bitten the dust. Thanks to everyone who attended any of the 'Bigstuff' events and for your much valued support.

Very sad to hear that Marcus Howells from the band ‘Foreign Legion’ passed away yesterday. He was one of the loveliest people you could ever hope to meet. I know he will be greatly missed by all that loved him in the Welsh valleys where he lived. He made a huge impact on everyone so he will be missed by people across the world. Very fond memories of you Marcus. Thanks for the music and your absolute dedication to the scene. R.I.P. Bigsey x

The Enemy (Derby Punk) formed in 1980 and released two albums, five singles and played plenty of gigs including a lot at the 100 Club in London where I took this photo. They were active from 1980 - 1984 pouring out some excellent songs. They made a very welcome return and we (Bigstuff Prom) were pleased to be able to put them on at The Grosvenor in Stockwell, London with the excellent Decadent Few + The Electric C***s. They played a few more gigs including taking part at the Rebellion Punk Music Festival. What a lovely bunch of people and I will always have respect for John Grosvenor and all of the staff we miss at another lost music venue. The Enemy went quiet again after releasing another single although I would still blast them out at home. I am now very pleased to announce that on the 40th anniversary of the single ‘50, 000 Dead’ being released the band have re - recorded the song. So stay tuned.
