Most people know Notting Hill Carnival for the crowds, music, and energy. I know it for 8AM.

For the past few years, I’ve been documenting London at 8AM, and Carnival morning has become one of my favorite chapters of that project.

Before the streets fill up, before the city fully wakes up, there’s a different atmosphere. A quieter moment between the preparation and the celebration. That’s what brings me back every year.

Notting Hill Carnival is back in 2 days 🎭

This video was filmed at 8AM during last year’s Carnival. A moment from J’Ouvert, the early morning opening celebration known for its paint, powder, music, and energy.

Why 8AM?
For the past few years, I’ve been working on a personal project called 8AM, documenting London in those early hours when the city is just waking up.
And yes, I’ll be back again this year.
