Had a FANTASTIC shoot with yesterday.

I’m really loving doing headshots again, learning more and getting better.
Thankfully this guy is a dream in front of the camera! He goes from hardcore gangster boss to friendly postman in about 2 seconds.
More pics to come from this shoot, I’m sure.

Spent most of yesterday trying out different light set ups. I have a lot of good ones - but I really want to keep getting to know my equipment. Every face and every personality is different. It’s nice to be able to set the mood accordingly! (Never mind my non existent model face ha ha!)

These phots turned out quite different than I imagined. Most likely because I shot in bright daylight. (Long exposure shots!) I didn’t want to over edit them, though perhaps with more editing I’d be able to make the vision come to life a little more. I thought the dead “ghost tree” was super cool, and wanted to use that as a centre point (as well as the curved rocks!). But sadly it mostly blended into the background. Anyway. With shots like this I am reminded that photography is an art form, light, angle and intention really does matter a lot. And sometimes you have to abandon the original idea entirely and work with what you’ve got.

Good morning from Mauritius.
Finally woke up in time for the sunset.

A little too windy for long exposure photos on my shaky tripod.

Still gorgeous tho.
