Back from a lovely family holiday in Italy 🇮🇹
And of course, I couldn’t leave the camera at home.
While everyone else is relaxing by the pool, I’m wandering around somewhere photographing old buildings, pretty streets, scenery and anything that catches my eye.
And this year, the kids have really got into it too. They’ve loved taking the camera out, learning how to use it and looking at things differently. It’s been so lovely seeing them start to notice the little details and want to photograph them too.
I’m exactly the same when I’m walking around London. I’ll spot an old building, an interesting doorway, a little corner of the city that most people probably walk straight past, and I’ll stop and take a photo anyway.
I think that’s the bit people don’t always realise about photography. It isn’t just something I do for work. It’s how I see things.
I’m always looking for the little details worth remembering. Whether that’s a Newborn’s tiny fingers, the way a family looks at each other, or an old building that’s been standing there for a hundred years.
It’s all comes from the same instinct. Something is there, exactly as it is right now. And one day it might not be. So I take the photo to remember it forever.
I’ve built a business around doing this for other families too.
