Did you catch me cheating?
Well, I don’t like to be told what to do🤷🏼‍♀️😂
To be completely honest- I will never understand why would people be more interested in just seeing the behind the scenes/ process not the end results?! What’s up with that?

Apparently a surprising number of photographers don’t retouch their portrait work.

I know this because models keep telling me.

Which is wild, because if you’re shooting portraits, learning how to retouch skin isn’t some optional secret technique reserved for Photoshop wizards. It’s part of the job.

No, that doesn’t mean turning people into plastic mannequins( unless that’s the goal).

It means knowing how to clean up distractions, polish an image, and deliver a finished photo.

Anyway, thanks for attending my masterclass.

Next week: why photographers should learn how to use a camera.

wanted to be an influencer…

Instead, I became the person lying in puddles, carrying lights, and spending 3 hours editing a photo so someone else could become the influencer. 😂

Not exactly the plan, but I think it worked out.

Anyone else end up somewhere completely different from what they imagined?

PS: the images that I’m most proud of are at the end of the reel 😊

I’ve spent the last few weeks trying to keep myself busy.

Some days that means editing photos.
Some days that means staring at Photoshop for 45 minutes and achieving absolutely nothing.

Losing Wanda knocked the wind out of me more than I expected, and for a while I genuinely wasn’t sure when I’d feel excited about creating or generally about anything again.

But lately something has started to shift.

I picked up the camera, started experimenting with light(and life) again, and for the first time in a while I caught myself thinking: “Ooooh, that’s cool.”

Turns out the cure for a creative slump might just be making everything glow radioactive green. ☢️

The best part? I actually feel happy to work again.

And tomorrow I’m heading to Wales for the Wales & West Photography Show where I’ll be doing a talk for Sony, which is equal parts exciting and terrifying.

So if you see someone wandering around with a camera, a coffee, and the look of somebody who definitely rehearsed their talk in the shower… come say hi. 😂

Anyway, here’s a reminder that if life feels a bit heavy right now, making things badly is still better than not making things at all.

Keep creating. ❤️

Apparently, spending 2 hours wandering around London taking outdoor portraits with me and Tyana-Mystykal Models counts as a workshop.

Who knew?

There will be cameras.
There will be questionable creative decisions.
There will be light chasing, posing, and me oversharing everything that’s going through my head while shooting.

15 June.
2 hours.
Outdoors.
Limited spots.
All levels are welcome.
No PowerPoint presentations were harmed in the making of this event.

If that sounds like your kind of chaos, the tickets are hiding in my bio. 🎟️

Portraits workshop, cinematic portraits, outdoor portraits, natural light, London, female photographer, Sony Alpha, Sony a7Rv, lights and shadows

Me: “These are definitely staying in colour.”

Also me, 20 minutes later: converts everything to black and white.

The truth is they just felt more angelic this way. Softer, moodier, like they belong in a dream I can’t quite remember.

I love having a vision before a shoot, but my favourite images usually happen when I completely betray that vision in post.

So if anyone asks why these are black and white now, the answer is simple:

I changed my mind.

A very professional creative process. 👼🖤
Which one do you prefer- the raws or the edits?

My camera roll is full.

Years of shoots, thousands of edits, and exactly zero willingness to delete any of them. 📸
