Why networking matters ๐ค
Recently I had the pleasure of photographing the 2nd birthday celebration of a fantastic London-based health and wellbeing networking community that Iโm proud to be part of, The Wellness Hub, founded by Deborah Binun.
It was an amazing morning catching up with people in the group, new attendees, super interesting talks by Love Hannington and Debora Luzi, and the kind of positive energy that comes from bringing together people who genuinely care about helping others live happier and healthier lives.
One of the things I value most about the group is the focus on building real relationships and it reminded me that networking isnโt just about exchanging business cards or promoting what you do - itโs about getting to know people, understanding their work, supporting each other, and creating opportunities for collaboration. Over time, those conversations turn into trusted connections, partnerships and friendships.
Communities like this play such an important role in a world where we increasingly interact with people from behind a computer screen. We need to be mindful of the need to balance the speedy convenience of screen-based conversation with real in-person connection. It is, after all, how we were designed to interact with each other.
As a photographer, I loved capturing some of those moments at the event. Being behind the camera gives me the chance to observe and photograph the small interactions, the smiles, conversations and moments of genuine connection. And at same time, as a member of this group, it felt particularly meaningful to experience the event both as an observer and as a participant in the community.
Here are a few highlights from the celebration ๐
