Picture Sunday, what shall it be? Today is Sasha's day. Last year, one bitterly cold December day myself and a friend called Devi went out to Ponichala, a micro-rayon of Tbilisi. I had been a couple of times before and was resolute this is where I would meet young Tbilisians - not hipsters (yawn) but the real youth of Tbilisi with more real, honest dreams. But it was bitterly cold with the wind gnawing into your bones - no one was hanging outside. But what we did find though was Genia; walking down the street with a flow of about seven dogs following her. We caught up to chat and then she invited us back to her home. This turned out to be an old train wagon, where on arrival we were greeted with even more dogs, barking and yapping and her husband Sasha. I'm not sure the picture does justice to just how full with things their wagon was and my god even more cats and dogs who were pi***ng everywhere... but Genia and Sasha seemed immune to this detail. Personally, dog p**s on my bed will never work for me.
